Divide the Assets of the Cavs Deal... What Could You Get?

The idea about going all in is that Wiggins (or Parker) are a tier above everyone else and in basketball, you need players like that. I'm not sure what the purpose of gutting the team for more lower-tier prospects would be for, except maybe tanking next year.
Yes, agree.
While these guys are probably not Lebron and Kobe, the view is that Wiggins is Durant and Parker is Melo. They are definitely seen as a tier above the rest, as was Embiid. I agree with Numberica on this one. If you give up players like Burks and Favors, you do it for a franchise player, not just more prospects who have about as much upside as the players you're giving up.

Handlogten has a good point. If the Jazz were to draft Embiid, maybe they could flip him to Boston. But it's risky. If the Celts were content with Gordon, Randle, Smart, etc., then the Jazz are "stuck" with Embiid. And I don't think they want to take that chance on a player who may/may not recover. And if he does, may/may not have chronic back issues or may/may not develop his game. Just too many HUGE risks.

I don't want to trade Favors and Burks for Wiggins or Parker but if we could get Olynyk and saric I'm in.

R U Guys ****in Srs?!

We want to consolidate our assets, not divide them even further.

4 quarters do not equal one dollar in the NBA.

You can only have 5 players on the court at a time.

That's not really the choice boss. Would you rather have Favors, Burks, Gordon/Vonleh, and #23 or Gordon/Vonleh and whatever your other assets could get you. Look I get that we need a superstar, but Wiggins comp is not Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant was an ice cold killer in college... his closer comp is Paul George (which is not bad), but what if he doesn't reach that comp. Parker scares me a bit... he may be more Glen Robinson than Carmelo Anthony.

I would trade for #1 if it means Favors plus #5, but i think there is a real chance that Burks is a better scorer than Parker is. Wiggins... who knows. He could end up being T-Mac on offense or he could become a rich man's Tony Allen. I understand we have to overpay to move up, but I don't think we should get robbed just for the opportunity at a superstar. We might have more opportunity at a superstar by getting multiple top ten picks.

Also, Saric is no joke. Look at his numbers in a man's league. He's also a bit of an a** kicker. If his dad wasn't so involved he might have been our guy at #5. Get him at #17 or #23 and it is a tremendous value.

Does Embiid have the biggest upside of any player in years? Take away the risks...what do you think?

I think in order to get the #1 that it is contingent on Embiid being there... If he's there you take him and have a deal or two already in place.

Before the injury I would say yes not so much now. I would only do the deal to get Wiggins and it can't both be Burk and Favors. Give them a second first round pick but not two first Burk and Favors.

You can't just ignore the injury and throw magic dust on it expecting him to be fine. I would say before the injury, Embiid had slightly more upside than everyone but very close to Wiggins. Heck if Gordon learns to shoot he might have has much upside. I think Embiid's health is more of a concern than Gordon improving his shooting.

I would love it if Saric fell to 17. IF i were the Jazz instead of just giving away #23 I would try to move up and grab him. I know Chicago is trying to get rid of their picks maybe they can't so they will take a lower pick to save a little money.

I think we miscommunicated... I think the cavs want embiid and so he'd have to be there at 5 to do the swap. I think the cavs still want him and they have the most information on his Medicals.
