DL Goes To The League About Jazz Officiating

Nothing wrong with lobbying and presenting our case. Hayward gets tackled off ball all damn game. You could literally call a foul on every possession. We are likely playing the clippers the loudest complaining team in the league. CP3 is officiated differently than the rest of the league. I have no idea why that guy gets to commit assault on defense the whole game. Then when they call something he acts like my two year old when I tell her we can't watch Frozen right now:

I think the timing was measured... I think the interview was good. I do not think you can fine him based on what he said. He did not criticize officials. I think it comes out of frustration on things not changing.

I doubt it works but I think it's not a terrible strategy.

Exactly, call Bantom. It can't hurt: 212-407-8000, ext 8900

That John Wall complaining about the Refs thread did a few pages. I showed up and demonstrated what he was talking about and NO ONE REFUTED IT..

A great big, hearty LOL for this one. So, let me get this straight, IF someone posts something on an internet discussion board, and nobody refutes it (at least in the mind of the poster), then what was posted must be true?

It's kind of like when one person posts something (often a long wordy post) and then when somebody else doesn't respond within some arbitrary time frame the original poster takes this as confirmation, cowardice on the part of the other person, or as evidence that the post was so profoundly brilliant that the other person avoids posting because he/she's simply overwhelmed by the original poster's flawless argumentation.

Oh, the games we play on internet discussion boards.

My initial thoughts are:

A. This is exactly how DL and Quin Snyder do business. Collect the evidence quietly, and give the league a chance to self-correct before taking it public.

B. Taking it public right before the playoffs is likely strategic. Hopefully, it puts pressure on the league to fix it. My guess is that it somehow relates to how teams defend Gordon Hayward -and/or Rudy Gobert. The idea being to either get favorable calls or force teams to defend differently.

C. Hopefully it helps. Hayward and Gobert are starting to get calls in their direction, that that's going to be even more needed with how bad the Clippers flop and how much holding they do on defense.

Yup. This is the right way to do this and the timing is perfect. Great job DL. If he gets fined, I doubt he cares.

The organization would pay it and not him anyways I'd bet.

I like how they did it as well. If you feel you have a legit complaint then you try and prove it.

The refs suck. They need a lot more training. Why not add another ref? Maybe even one that has a chair mid-court.

I think any rule the league has ever enacted to make things more "objective" and "fair" has simply given the league more power to subjectively call games.

I think harprings suggestion on instant replay was a good suggestion. Combined with my idea

Have 1 official at the replay office to watch the game from camera angles. If he sees fouls not being called or bad calls he can call a replay and or over turn calls.

I think that's dangerous. I'm okay with having a guy at the league office instruct them to emphasize things that are getting missed, but I think overturning calls can be dangerous unless your protocols and transparency are bulletproof.

Fans see the same replays that the replay official sees. Part of the problem is refs taking so much time looking at replays. Refs are going to get better at making calls if there is so.e one checking them

I went to the Stars game last Friday, and was shocked that the D-League is doing coaches challenges. I think that is something that could be useful for the game, because they were really quick reviews.

I ****ing loved this from DL. Such a smart dude.

Perfect way to go about this, IMO.
