DL out… kinda?

This is good news. Advisory roles at Fortune 500 companies basically is a way of keeping people aboard with next to no responsibility.

Say hello to Danny Ainge, your new EVP.

I'll bet they end up hiring Shane Battier to a front office position, or possibly Ainge.

So yeah, it looks like DL is transitioning out of the top basketball operations position. It feels like a bit of a regime change, while keeping the coach and GM for consistency.

Isn't this basically what Kevin O'Conner did when Lindsey was brought in?

Does this mean we’re gonna draft a stud this summer instead of another dud like Udoka? We sure could use a few young and cheap players that can contribute.

This is a very, very good thing for the organization.

I appreciate DL and generally think we have one of the best FOs in the league. You don't build a #1 seed in Salt Lake City if that's not the case. That said, Zanik is a forward-thinking guy. We won't "err towards continuity" as much as has plagued us in the past, and I think he and Ryan are going to really go for it.
