DL must land a free agent of note. We have a legit chance at a title if he does. Our window is the next 1-4 years.

Probably true as I’m a total homer. But I’m loyal to a fault. If this is what we do I will raise my glass of Johny Walker, double black, on the rocks as I slip underneath the waves in this sinking ship.
 
It’s also great that you say our window is 1-4 years, because we’ll have Love under contract for all 4 of those years.

Here, "getting paid" means 'getting a higher salary than we will be willing to pay him', I'd guess.

I also think this has emerged as the most likely option. Favors has been special; and his mind-meld with Ingles is the backbone of the "second unit's" offensive system.
We just need more shooters, and Rubio ain't one. Neither is our backup PG. So, in other words, our shelf of PGs is basically bare even though we've thrown more draft assets at that position than any other.
 
I hope we find a way to hold onto Ekpe. I think he is about perfect for a defensive bump off the bench and he can still get the occasional lob or mini-hook. He has jazz dna too. Hope they can keep him.

I appreciate what Ricky has done. I've supported him more and longer than most. But our shooting stats are pretty clear: we are generating better shots that every other team in the west, but we aren't hitting our shots at a league-average rate. We need shooters, and we need to play them real minutes, plain and simple. Even though Ricky is a big part of that shot-generation, he doesn't have job security because we need more makers.

My concern is that there’s a balance to be found between shot generating and makers. Careful with sacrificing the former and becoming stagnant in offense in terms of ball movement.

With that said I’d be surprised if Rubio stayed given the Jazz were looking to trade him for Conley’s corpse at the trade deadline.

Conley's corpse? The dude has been one of the 10 best players in the whole league over the past 15 games. You just massively discredited yourself.

I haven’t been following him that closely nor have I looked at stats but I’ll take your word for it. It was in reference to how much he’s got left in the tank more than anything, and how that meshes with the team’s future. Good for him if he’s been balling as of late.
