What's new

Does Dennis Lindsey get canned if this season is botched?

I think we're gonna get about 51 wins next season. Fight for the 4th seed, and have a scrappy 1st round playoff appearance with a slight chance of exceeding expectations and getting to the 2nd round.

Oh so 52 wins is a good ceiling but not 55?

Hahahahaha

Huh? Did you even read what I wrote? I said we won't get 50 wins.

I said that his range would put us fifth in the west, which is where I had us BUT we would NOT get 50 wins.

Come on now.

WTF in this thread is predicting a jump in win total beyond 50 and saying we're done adding things with Hill? who? please link.

Also, any win-total estimations have health in mind.

Also, you suck ***.

Dude I have to intervene. I'm wondering if you have watched any games outside of the Utah Jazz this past year? Your saying they will contend with a 2016 thunder team including Durant and Westbrook. You have been saying that. I'm a Jazz fan but also an intellectual. Are you serious?

Whether we don't make the playoffs due to injuries, being bad, or whatever the reason is. Do you see Lindsey getting the boot if we don't make it to the playoffs this year and/or Gordon leaving for nothing the following off-season?

He should get fired, but the last time a GM working for the Jazz that made a lot of bad decisions, the Jazz didn't fire him, they promoted him. KOC has stumbled his way up stairs to president of basketball operations. I would imagine that almost anyone could impress the Miller family. All you have to do is smile and shake hands using a firm grip and your on your way to the top in Utah. We don't fire anyone, in fact, if you suck bad enough, we'll promote you and upgrade your office.

It has been one year of moving sideways. The two years before that were about building a base. It was forward progress.
If we go .500 or less and miss the playoffs, that's 3 straight years. If we did that and lost Hill and Hayward to free agency, yes, that's 3 straight years moving sideways through the world of NBA mediocrity.

There is a ton to be excited about this season. I'm interested in seeing our play in free agency. If we can make a smart move or two, we could be set up for possibly homecourt for the first round.

This whole Durant thing and Barnes thing are key. If Durant could go east and GS massively overpays to keep Barnes, the West will weaken. I still think Barnes is better than some give him credit for, but his contract would keep GS from continuing to add as easily.
