Does Donovan have a chance to be an All-Star this year?

I mean, look at the guy's numbers... he was 9 ppg in October, 18 ppg in November, and 31 ppg so far in December. While I don't think that he can keep up the 31 ppg number, I don't think it's insane to see him averaging 21-22 ppg for the rest of the season.

If he averages 21 per game for the rest of the season and plays 80 games, he'll average 19.8 per game. That would probably put him around 19 PPG around the All-Star break. If the Jazz are fighting for a Top-4 seed in the playoffs, I think we deserve an All-Star, and Mitchell has been our best player this year.

If he were playing for LA, maybe. No jazz rookie will ever play in the allstar IMO. I don't want him in the allstar game this year. Want him to have something to shoot for next year. Besides he will win MVP of the future stars challenge, maybe let him compete in the skills challenge thing

Oh c'mon now, there's no way Mitchell makes the actual All-Star game really - let's be realistic here. Not even Ben Simmons himself will make it and he's the leading candidate for the roty. But Mitchell does have a shot at being roty though if he keeps doing what he is doing now and a 1st team rookie too.

Agree with Mitchell but disagree with Simmons. If he continues I can't see how they could keep him out. He's the next torch bearer
for the league and with that comes a Rookie All-Star appearance.

As far as Mitchell. It would be a pretty big deal if he was to became part of the discussion.

Yes, Simmons does have a shot I agree with you there but not on Mitchell. The west is just too stacked for it to happen.

Damian Lillard made the All Star team as a rookie. The Blazers won 33 games that year and Lillard averaged 19 ppg. But Lillard had that 'it' factor and was the Alpha winning games that shouldn't be won by dominating.

Mitchell is getting that sort of love this year. I wouldn't rule it out. ESPECIALLY if the Jazz are sitting in the 5th or 6th spot by February and if Mitchell averaged 24+ for the months of December and January. Points have been coming so easily for him that I won't rule that out either even if I expect a rookie wall at some point. Where's our Johnny Bryant appreciation thread btw?

Harden, Curry, Russ, Lillard, Klay, Butler, McCollum, Booker, Gordon, Evans all have better cases right now and I'm sure I'm missing some. Don't think Mitch has a shot but the fact that this is even a question is awesome.

Just did some analysis... Don't have time to go through all the numbers, but basically since DM took over as a starter he is as good or better than guys like Kyrie, Dame, Rose, Brandon Roy (would have been awesome if he stayed healthy), and Tyreke Evans. All of whom were really fricking good as rookies and won rookie of the year. Only a couple of them helped their team win games though and I think only Roy played good defense.

Don't know if he makes the all-star game, but dude is going to be a superstar. Make every move from now on with the though of maximizing him and Gobert. No short term BS (one year rentals, Kevin Love type trades). It's DMs world and everyone else is just living in it.

Simmons will but Don-Mitch won’t unless he puts up 30-40 on a regular basis that it will be impossible to look the other way. Playing for the Jazz or certain teams has their disadvantages for attention. They either lowball or get jelly.

I disagree, Simmons has a great chance to make it in the the weak eastern conference.
