Does Donovan have a chance to be an All-Star this year?

Unlike Gordon who looked like a lost puppy I think Donovan would be a great face of the franchise at the All-Star game. Not this season though.

Challenge. Give me 15 names that make the all star game from the east ahead of Simmons.
 
If Jazz are a top 5 team in the West and Mitchell is averaging over 20 ppg then I think he has a chance to make it in. It is an outside chance but if those things happen it is possible and both of those things are very possible. Especially since there will be an injury replacement or two.

He would get in over Booker if he is averaging over 20 ppg since our team is much better than the Suns. The NBA wont send both CJ and Lillard unless they are a top 3 team. If we have a better record and Mitchell is over 30 ppg then he is getting in over CJ being the 2nd all-star from Portland. If we have a better record and Mitchell is averaging more ppg than Butler he could get in over him. He could get in over Gordon assuming we are a top 5 team and Mitchell is averaging more ppg than him. Tyreke is not getting in unless he starts to score more and his team wins more.

Seriously. Legitimate all stars from East are James, Irving, Derozan, Giannas, Wall..... My guess is Embiid, Simmons, Drummond, Beal will make it. They still have 3 spots left!

Wow. so maybe Oladipo, Love and.....Walker or Porzingas (he is injured so idk)? man I don't even know. so bad tho

Don't have time to go through all the numbers, but basically since DM took over as a starter he is as good or better than guys like Kyrie, Dame, Rose, Brandon Roy (would have been awesome if he stayed healthy), and Tyreke Evans. All of whom were really fricking good as rookies and won rookie of the year. Only a couple of them helped their team win games though and I think only Roy played good defense.

Don't know if he makes the all-star game, but dude is going to be a superstar. Make every move from now on with the though of maximizing him and Gobert. No short term BS (one year rentals, Kevin Love type trades). It's DMs world and everyone else is just living in it.

Donovan has to keep scoring, and the Jazz have to keep winning in extraordinary fashion for it to even be a consideration. With that said. . . if he’s clearly the best offensive player on a team playing dominant basketball into February - I think there has to be a chance. He’s getting a LOT of positive attention really get now and only getting better. I think he’ll dominate a bunch more games and the conversation will start to lean in his favor. He’s the kind of star that transcends the fact that he plays in Utah. People just really, really like him.
