Fair points, all stats can be misleading, especially when there are a ton of variables beyond the single player (as is the case for +/-). However, in the case of Kanter eye test and plus/minus tell the same story.

I believe RPM is a very good overall stat and DRPM is an excellent overall defensive stat. It is imperfect but what stat is perfect? It is better than counting blocks, steals and defensive rebounds. In the playoffs the sample size is too small to get a statistically valid RPM.

No, they all matter, just need to look at the context before drawing conclusions. We were just talking about different things at different times in this thread. His plus/minus was okay last night, we certainly can agree that Kanter wasn't a factor in the game, right? That is my only point, it seems so uncontroversial it is hard to imagine that we could possibly disagree.

You need crack open that textbook of yours. I offered you data on Kanter's good +/- last night that weakens my previous posts where I pointed out the opposite for the course of the overall playoffs.

That is a key part of the scientific method -- seeking evidence to disprove your hypothesis. It is the polar opposite of confirmatory evidence bias.

OKC would be the same without Kanter, you underestimate how much of a liability he is on defense. There's a reason why even his own teammates want him out.

Poor troll, it seems you are the one with reading/writing/understanding/trolling issues. Tip: is not a good idea to use stats you don't trust to support your argument and then made that opinion public. If you don't think is a good indicator, use another one.
