More likely to cost you about 2 draft slots... in the last 10 or so years it was roughly 2 spots. Ranges from no diff to going from tied for 3rd to tied for 8th. And you are in dangerous territory in 24-28 win range. Win a couple close games you shouldn't and things get dicey.

If tanking is part of the evaluation when it comes to roster additions and Lauri I am not sure why it wouldn't contribute to the possibility that we move Walker/Sexton or anyone else.

Losing and giving the young guys a lot of time will not be an issue.

They traded multiple vets and benched multiple healthy vets. They won't do that for 82 games. Hardy will generally play the best players that are available to him and has reiterated there is no free playing time.

While understanding how lot of minutes for rookies mean higher probability of losing, I don't thing post ASB rotations can be too big of a measure stick. Hardy seems to be a coach with clear visions, and he worked really hard to find working rotations until they work as much they did. They got completely ruined, when they traded the two role players that really made things work.

That said, with current roster, it needs significant jumps in the level of play for young guys, if this version of Jazz want to go for extended run of winning ball like the mid-season was. In a vacuum, Simone and KO don't necessarily move a needle, but they were really, really fitting complimentary pieces to Jazz starting lineup and bench unit.

Because the odds of keeping Kessler costing us a superstar by winning too many games are extremely low. We've been over the probabilities - trading a player to squeeze out a few more losses is a really small boost.

So do Simone and KO have AS impact... because there was a stretch where we went 15-5 and those guys would have been the only difference. I think our 12 straight losses or whatever is not something we should look to when projecting how good or bad we will be. We have an AS caliber player, 3 starting caliber players, and a couple rotation worthy players. Until midseason we won't be seeing nearly as much dev time as some project. I bet Williams is the only rookie that plays early. I would also bet Keyonte is quite a bit better.

We won 31 games with this crew... lost Dunn, Tech, KO, THT, Ochai... tanked our faces off post ASB. Key was a driving force for losing and should be better. I would suspect if Kessler, Lauri on the the roster they play more than they did last year but who knows. Taylor will be better than whatever Ochai was... like I'm just not sure why we assume this crew is gonna be worse than Hornets, Pistons, Bulls, Portland. I think we are somewhere in the 7th-9th rank and that puts us dangerously close to where we can't tank hard enough down the stretch.

Remove one or two parts and you could easily be 3rd or 4th worst... I think it matters a lot.

Yep. After the trades. Those trades messed up the team (rotations were forced to be changed) and were a gut punch to Hardy.

So this season hardy will ride the vets hard and we will get in a rhythm for the first half of the season and then there will be trades and forced rotation changes and another gut punch followed by losses to end the season. Hopefully we get better than the 9th pick. I didn't like how the last 2 seasons played out.

I'm actually down with giving up assets to make it so hardy has to play the rookies and 2nd year guys (and Kessler). Throw a first in with Clarkson and Collins if you have to. We got plenty of quantity. Picks and young guys bursting at the seams. I would like to add quality next season. Get a future mvp (increase the chances of getting one anyway)
