To me the Pelicans are the dark horse team. They have enough draft capital to make a great offer without having any player talent come back. They have enough reason to be desperate. Lauri is a great fit next to Zion.

They got the following draft capital:

• 2025 Lakers Pick
• 2025 Bucks pick top 4 protected
• 2026 swap with Bucks
• 2027 first from Milwaukee
• They have complete control of their own draft capital (first rounders)

They could send Ingram to Sacramento to help supplement the picks coming to us as well.

I guess NOLA getting Murray makes them more likely to go all in on a Lauri deal? No idea because I know their ownership is regarded as extremely cheap, so maybe throw cold water on them.

I feel like the pending Lauri trade is a big domino in free agency/trade market that may not happen for the next month, so I wonder if some of these rumored teams for Lauri take themselves out with other roster moves (Kuzma/Grant/Ingram trades).
