Does the new ownership head in another direction after the painful end to the season.
Quin is safe. Phil Jackson caliber coaches don't grow on trees. This is more on the front office than it is on Quin.
Not at all. My point is whomever we choose to replace Snyder isn't magically going to be better at coaching than he is. People are so quick to call for his firing but their suggested replacement will likely end up being worse. You did not just compare Quin Snyder to Phil Jackson lmao.
Firing Dwayne Casey was the right move.Snyder stays because Utah has never been a franchise willing to rock the boat too much with radical moves. Maybe Ryan Smith is different but i doubt it.
With that said, Quin should be lucky he's coaching the Jazz and not another franchise because I guarantee with how quick some franchises have been in the past to fire coaches (remember when the Raptors canned Dwane Casey, despite his being Coach of the Year, because he lost in the semifinals?), if we were another franchise, he'd likely be gone after two epic collapses in back-to-back postseasons.
Even though Carlisle hit a wall with Dallas, I'd take him over Quin because, at the end of the day, I suspect, at his worst, he's likely to get you the same level of postseason success we've seen under Quin. At his best, he can elevate this team into a true title contender (and not a pretender). Hell, at this point, I'd be okay getting the 70 year old D'Antoni.
Exactly. So was Dallas' firing Avery Johnson despite his having led the Mavs to the NBA Finals a few seasons earlier. The Warriors firing Mark Jackson was a good move too. As was the Clippers firing Doc Rivers, despite his being the most successful coach in franchise history.Firing Dwayne Casey was the right move.
This... the natural order is new GM... then new coach. Ironically if DL does a better job then Quin has more tools and if he ****s it up then you can point the blame finger at him.He has a better chance of surviving than DL.
He has a better chance of surviving than DL.
Yes, DL and Zanik are getting on a plane to Chicago tomorrow for Draft Combine prep.Honestly I think they both likely survive, at least for one more season.
DL be like "which undersized guard or unathletic tweener am I getting this year”?Yes, DL and Zanik are getting on a plane to Chicago tomorrow for Draft Combine prep.
