Thought it was telling that Fitts was put on the active roster instead of him.

Why? There just isn’t room for Udoka to play with Rudy and Whiteside being two elite rim protectors. Granted there isn’t much room for Fitz either but he fills a more critical position, and I would think he would have a better chance to play with him playing a more premium position

The Stars released their training camp roster today. DWade's son and Thurl Bailey's son are on it. There is a guard that was Malachi Flynn's back court partner on a team that went 30-2 at San Diego State, and a 6'6" dude from Fordham that was MVP in a league in Chile. The Jazz training camp cuts are there. I think they have to cut three guys from the list.

It’s telling because it says we will definitely go small before we use Udoka and there were a few here talking about how Udoka was going to push Whiteside for time. Well guess what… he is the 4th string center behind Rudy, Hassan, Paschall… had a full year in the league… full training camp and preseason… and no progress yet. G League may help him, but it appears we drafted another developmental backup center that will fail to jump over that super low bar. Hell he might very well be behind Fitts on the center options depth chart.

I wouldn’t cut the guy but if a team offered a second and was willing to take him into space I’d jump at it. Considering potential tax savings it could be big.

For sure... I think the deadline to make a decision is around the corner.

Just looked it up... October 31 is the deadline to pick up that option... if we decline he is restricted but the most we could offer is up to his projected 3rd year salary... I'll say the same thing I did about TB... no one is paying him more than the minimum. Its only 2.2M for next year so I could see us picking it up... but I would gauge the trade market first. If he has more value if we pick up the option then move him. If you decline the option then look to use his salary in a trade because he is either gone or not worth keeping around.
