DOL on 1280--The Consequences of Standing Pat

Alt...
My point remains...we HAVE injury insurance at the wings already; we don't at the bigs. We have 3 starting quality wings and only 2 starting bigs. So either way, we need a Big more than a wing.

I can agree with that. The ideal would be a 3/4 hybrid.

Talent is talent. In the draft, the best plan is to get the most talented players you can find and coach them up. Fill holes in free agency. The Jazz need to add more depth at C, but they have a solid and young roster right now that needs to develop and play together. They can add anyone from the draft - at any position - and have it improve the team onthe court. Maybe even as soon as this upcoming season. That's all I really want. For the Jazz to scout their asses off and identify the kid that's going to be special - then go get them. Period.

What if a the win score for a four player combination was higher than for any 5 player combinations?

I believe we utilized a 4 man defense for much of the year last year until a certain trade happened.

I disagree. We need depth on the wing and we don't necessarily need another big other than injury insurance. We need more shooters more than we need another big.

I don't think a 3-man big rotation where the big off the bench is barely 6'8" means they're set at with the bigs. Even Golden State with their notorious and successful small ball has 7 bigs including: 3 seven-footers, 3 6'10" PFs, and a 6'7" utility PF.
