You are correct.
I truly wonder if those accusing Clinton as being "so dishonest" and comparing her to Trump (which isn't an accurate comparison as I will show) are truly letting data guide their opinions? Much like supply-side economics and climate change, it is as if one side has closed their minds to facts after being bombarded for years with a certain narrative.

One can easily see which candidate was more honest.
The most powerful findings are in the following list
Clinton has nearly 4x as many "True" statements as Trump.
- Clinton has 29 "False" statements compared to Trump's 134.
- Trump has 65 "Pants on Fire" statements compared to Clinton's 7.
Furthermore, look at the politfact record of the GOP primary. Trump was clearly the biggest liar, followed by Cruz and Carson (Rubio was fairly honest).

So I guess the question remains, are we letting data guide our opinions? Those who claim that Clinton was in the same zip code as Trump in terms of lying must be one of those on 5th ave who witness Trump's slaying of innocents and still will vote for him.
Recently, a pro-Trump neighbor talked to me. They said that although they voted for Trump, they would've voted for Sanders had he been the nominee. How is that possible considering that Sander's agenda would've been the opposite of Trump's? So was this neighbor basing his political views on a candidate's views and agenda? Or had his view of Clinton been tainted so badly over her 20+ year career that voting for her was never considered an option?
If Elizabeth Warren runs in 2020, what will her reception be? Especially when you consider her views to be far left of Clinton's?

However, because the special counsel regulation expired in 1999, Trump is the one with final say. He could easily fire Mueller today and dare Congress to reappoint him. Think this Congress will? lol...
We are nearing a constitutional crisis and it seems like Trumpetiers have no problem with it. The far right has always had an affinity for authoritarian rule. It has really manifested itself over the past year. From attacks on minorities to blatant attacks on our constitution. The fact that all republicans in the Congress are supporting blatant abuses of power and justifying Trump's behavior is appalling. The fact that most Republicans in the nation are ignoring it, speaks volumes as to how delicate and fragile democracy is.
What exactly is the solution? The problems are so complex and so deep seated. From intolerant evangelical racists, like David Duke, Jerry Falwell, and James Dobson to radio hosts like Limbaugh and Savage, to Fox News, to rich anti-government donors like the Koch bros. The radical right is out of control and needs a complete reformation. But where to start?

I cannot believe how far off the rails you have gone. You're an intelligent guy who has become completely overwhelmed by an unhealthy obsession. Quit following the media so closely, take a walk in the woods(a lot of walks). You'll be amazed at how much better it will make you feel.
If you really are convinced that the Apocalypse is upon us unless you do something then why don't you invest all of this anger and energy into running for office or somehow getting involved in the system, rather than griping on a message board?

So your solution is for Red to stop warning us about Trump and run for President, independent of the obvious financial requirements one would need to fulfill? Or of the clearly unacceptable behavior the POTUS has shown?
So basically you're telling others to "shut up unless you run for President?" Am I correct?

I've voted for a republican for President many times. This year was the first year I voted for a Democrat.
Locally I won't vote for Republicans because I dream of one day having a 2 party system in Utah.

We know that historically the pendulum swings. When this Trump disease has run its course and the pendulum swings back, will we see a moderate government or will it swing towards a new progressive movement? After nearly 2 decades of pro-corporate conservative policies beginning in the 20s, from FDR's New Deal until Nixon's election, we saw New Deal Democrats (and a progressive Republican in Eisenhower) who initiated change both socially and economically.
Will we see something similar in the coming decades? One may estimate that a new progressive movement could manifest itself in single payer health care, reforms in education, mass government spending for infrastructure and technology, women's rights, worker pay/protections? Ideas that were very popular with the Bernie Sanders young crowd...
