What's new

Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States.

Not to stir up a bunch of **** but does anyone remember how Nostradamus predicted Satan would be elected in the West or something? Can anyone find the exact excerpt?

I think this is what you were looking for.

In the land beyond the setting sun a Berber king will be dethroned by the great Satan. The great Satan, with hair like flame, will stand before the tired, the poor, the huddled masses. He will say unto them "I have come to grab em by the *****."

That's all fine and dandy but it does nothing to address the Current Account and the implications of what happens when the driver of the world economy implodes under it's own debt.

Balance of Payments = net import - net exports = national deficit.

How are you, alt13, going to go about balancing the ballooning US budget without attacking this simple formula?

I hear from the far left plenty "but the Germans can do it so why can't we?". Yeah, because they practice mercantilism to the core and have effectively blown apart the EU because of their protectionist policies. I don't want that protectionist spirit here either, but I sure as hell don't want to see us create another world wide bubble under the weight of our own debt. The data I've recently looked at says we kind of are, and I'm the guy who tends to be optimistic about this stuff. This country needs to balance this stuff out before it gets even more out of hand, for the good of Mexico and Gyna and TPP whoever the hell that is and everyone in this salt water covered globe.

Oh, and to answer my own question to you, all paths the US could take outside of beggar thy neighbor policy or a miracle lead to global growth grinding to a halt. All paths lead to Roam.

I was just reading 538 for some sports stuff and saw this report which was interesting to me.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/there-were-no-purple-states-on-tuesday/

It basically says this was the most straight ticket election in a long time. I have been saying for awhile that in Utah it would not matter who you voted for because in my lifetime the state has always had more straight ticket votes than any other type of votes. I was told this was the year that would change because of this election. It is crazy how strict people are in the two parties. I voted for Clinton but I did not straight ticket vote and I dont think I ever have in an election. I voted for at least 2 Republicans and 1 Libertarian this election and maybe others.

Why did you all think these two candidates made people become more Republican or Democrat this election?

Trying to deal with monetary policy by restricting trade is a dumb idea. It will deflate our economy and exacerbate our debts.

Unfortunately QE kicked the can down the road as far as coming to terms with our debt fueled economy. We will have to deal with it with a more restrictive monetary policy. Increasing trade and growing our economy can help to offset the pain that will come with that.

Weird. I know Montana rarely ever all votes straight ticket.
