And the Phillies!
Isn't that a cigar, btw?
No idea
Well it is. My prior statement stands.
And the Phillies!
Isn't that a cigar, btw?
No idea
When her private email account was discovered she was ordered to turn over all of her emails pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act. She and her staff decided Americans had no right to see a large number of them and deleted them.I'm just curious, how do you turn over emails if they have been deleted?
If they are deleted then they no longer exist I thought.
I wasn't disputing that she deleted them or even arguing about whether she did right or wrong or how scummy she is or isn't.When her private email account was discovered she was ordered to turn over all of her emails pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act. If the government ever has reason to suspect you of wrongdoing don't expect them to give you the same courtesy of allowing you to tamper with the evidence before turning it over. In other words, if you were to follow Clinton's lead you'd get yourself into a hell of a lot of trouble.
They were only impossible to turn over because she deleted them after they were requested. If she had been doing her government business on the government server she would never have had the ability to delete any of them (either before or after the fact). That's one of the many problems with what she did, and the reason that so many people believe she is hiding things.I wasn't disputing that she deleted them or even arguing about whether she did right or wrong or how scummy she is or isn't.
I just saw in your post that you said she deleted her emails AND turned them in to someone.
I was just curious if that is even possible or not to do. I figured that If she deleted them then they would be gone and therefore impossible to turn in to anyone.
They were only impossible to turn over because she deleted them after they were requested.
I was probably trying to say that she deleted a bunch of emails before fulfilling the request to turn them over. My wording must have been sloppy. Sorry bout dat.I know it's silly, but this is what I was disputing in your original post.
You said she deleted her emails AND turned them over in your first post.
In this post I'm quoting now, you say that they were impossible to turn over. I agree and that was my point.
So she never turned them over because she deleted them.
Now we are clear
It's all good. I didn't need to nitpick anyway.I was probably trying to say that she deleted a bunch of emails before fulfilling the request to turn them over. My wording must have been sloppy. Sorry bout dat.
Lol.And cigars... well, you know...
OK, now we've come full circle!
Good pointEmails have senders and receivers.
Some people believe that Clinton used her email account to communicate with foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation who subsequently received State Department approvals for deals that they made millions (and even billions) on. If this happened it would clearly be illegal influence peddling (much worse than the influence peddling already revealed in emails we are aware of). So you think we should just tell these foreigners that they need to turn over their emails to us? Under what authority do we ask given that they are not US citizens and not subject to our laws. Honestly, we don't even need to ask the question to know how they would reply.Good point
