Donovan interview on Louisville radio

Y'all loved Dwill, and Hayward at one time too but then turned on them because some fans act like they are property.
No one turned on DWill because he left us. He was traded, and he was traded on the cheap because he had a spat with a Utah Jazz all-time legendary coach, Jerry Sloan, that resulted in Sloan retiring mid-season. Reports were that DWill was a primadonna, kind of a jackass, and not bought-in to what Sloan was doing. Sloan is still loved and will always be loved by the majority of long-time Jazz fanz. So this has nothing to do with seeing DWill as property and everything to do with picking sides and picking the side of the guy who coached our team for decades and took the Jazz to the NBA Finals.

If Hayward would have handled his move in a more mature and respectful way there would be no hatred. I wore out my refresh button on that 4th of July wondering what he was going to do. I was in the camp that believed he would stay, but as the day wore on with a report that he had decided to go to Boston followed by Hayward claiming no decision had been made, to more waiting that ultimately ended with a Player's Tribune article that hit none of the right notes for fans of the Jazz that basically confirmed that the earlier leak about his decision was correct and that his denial was a bald faced lie. Again, this is not about property, this is about an expectation that he would treat the franchise with respect, that he would treat his fans in Utah with respect. When he showed a complete lack of respect for us we lost respect for him.
