Donovan is pissed at some stupid Jazz Fans

Mitchell needs to not post that.
Do you think anyone on the Jazz, the coaching staff or organization cringed at his post? I don't. I bet it made a lot of people proud.

There are many things athletes shouldn't post. Having your teammates back isn't one of them.

I think its fine that fans booed. I also think its great that Mitchell stuck up for his teammate.

Both groups can be right, its not an either or situation.

Fans should boo if they dont like what they see or the effort. Players should stick up for their teammates.

The real problem is in Utah we have a lot of people who feel like the underdog and need validation. They feel the need to suck up to the players for the Jazz and need them to say nice things about Utah for some reason. They need validation about something or anything. The fact is if a player cant handle being booed and doesnt like Utah for that then dont let the door hit you on the way out, we can get other players. Life goes on.

It is what it is.

I’d rather know what a guys thinking than have no clue like someone else(Hayward). He’s letting you know he doesn’t like it, he’s defending his teammate, and further proving his character. Dudes 21 years old and in his first year in the NBA. He conducts himself amazing, and deserves no criticism for being honest and in a respectful way. It’s also a good show of loyalty, show him and his teammates some.

Then don’t bitch about winning because you don’t do it in the NBA without star players. You may not like you have to cater to a Star, but it’s the reality of it if you want to win. Not booing his teammate...who’s on your team...is not much to ask of a fan base, especially when Hood was far from the problem last night. Hoods doing what’s being asked, and that’s shooting.

Mitchell isn't going to leave, lose sleep, or think differently of Jazz fans outside of a couple of hours because Rodney Hood got boo'd. His post sticking up for Hood is more of an indicator of his loyalty than anything else.

Stop being oversensitive, kiss asses, people.

Sincerely,

Mr. Oversensitive

No, I dont need to cater to anyone as a fan. If Mitchell will only stay if we never boo a teammate or the team then I dont care, he can move on. I like him but he does not get to dictate what I do as a fan. We do not need to worship him and cater to him. That is the ownerships job not the fan. My job is to be a fan through ups and downs and I expect my team to play hard, put in a full effort and make decisions that improve the team. As a fan I expect to let the team know when I dont like what they are doing.

Personally I like Hood and would not boo him. I would not boo a guy for being off with his shot. I would boo him for quitting like he did last night. He subbed himself out of the game, walked out early, and gave up on defense, that is the type of stuff I would boo. I will boo players on my own team if I dont like their behavior or effort. Jazz had a very poor effort, especially on defense. I think its fine to boo the team when that happens. If they dont like being booed, play harder.

Would you rather people quit watching the Jazz then boo them? What recourse do you have if you dont like what a team is doing? Personally I am too big of a fan to just give up and stop watching if I dont like what the team is doing so I would choose to boo in that situation.

Besides a player isnt staying or going because of this situation. They care far more about money, winning and location.

If Mitchell leaves over something like this then good luck to him, he is probably to mentally weak to hack it in the NBA. Fact is, it wont effect him at all. He is simply being a good teammate and sticking up for a teammate, good for him, he should.

Sure, I am glad he stuck up for his teammate, he should.

In the same sense I would rather the fans be honest and let the players know they dont like something. They dont need to be coddled and protected, fans dont need to lie to them. Fans are sticking up for their team that they have been cheering for long before Mitchell/Hood or anyone else and long after they are gone. Booing shows what loyal fans they are to stick it out even if they disapprove. The fans did nothing wrong and dont deserve criticism for being honest in a respectful way. No one got physical, threw anything or did other poor behavior things.

This guy understands fandom.

We expected too much from Hood, that's the real problem. Don't boo someone because your expectations were incorrect. He's obviously no where near what we hoped and wanted him to be. I certainly didn't want him shooting any more that night, but I wouldn't boo him.

I mean I fully understand why people booed. I don't have an issue with it either. I also don't have an issue with Rodney et al being offended by the booing... basically this all makes sense, and is just the result of losing and bad play. These sorts of things tend to happen and get magnified when the team is performing so negatively
