Looking at it that way Mitchell is more of complete player and therefore should get the ROY.

Without a three point shot he's still getting 17-8-7. I think

I have my eye on another goal. Most 20+ point games by a Jazz rookie is set at 50 by Dantley. Will Mitchell contest that? He's at what 15?

I'm sure you meant Griffith, not Dantley. Dantley was the leading NBA scorer for a year or two as a veteran Jazz man.
 
Brad Stevens with high praise for Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell: "He's special. I think that word was out before the draft but then watching him play in Summer League was pretty eye-opening. ... Plus he's just got a moxie about him, he's got a way about him that people would say is beyond his years. There's also older guys than don't have that so it's not fair to say that. I just think he's just got that way about him."
 
In part it will also come down to team bias: Utah hardly gets mentioned in the media; Philly has been a media darling with the catchy "The Process" reference. And, if Phi makes the playoffs and Utah misses, that will influence the decision. I think ROY is still Simmons' to lose. He had so much hype coming in. Even now, a lot of the comments have been, "the best rookie not named Simmons" or best player in the draft.

Weird that there was a random Burks highlight at the 3:25 mark that didn’t even involve Mitchell whatsoever.
 
I wanna see him do more playmaking and I think we're going to. It's interesting to see how many of Rubio's points came off of Mitchell passes which makes me wonder:
-has Rubio ever really played with another playmaker in the NBA on the perimeter before?
-could it be that Rubio is better as a secondary ball handler, considering that he's particularly easy to key on when it's in his hands?
