What's new

Don't Ask, Don't Tell is officially history!!

We already do send them somewhere else, but AFTER their time in prison, possibly for life. Look up Article 10 of New York State's mental hygiene laws. I think most other states also have equivalents. I think Florida's was the Jimmy Rice Act or something like that.

This is the first coherent, realistic, non-BS response I've seen you make in a while. Please do more posts like this. +1

When you assert that someone's behavior is detrimental to you, your family and society, without any reason, it's more than a little disingenuous to then say that you don't hate the people who undertake said "detrimental" behavior.

Hate is hate, no matter what deluded context you put it into.

So if consent is the issue... lets say I give you a gun, and say i now give you permission to kill me with this gun.... does that make it ok. Let's assume I am of the age of consent.

No, just as you cannot consent to becoming my permanent slave. I cannot take an action which prevents you from exercising your individual rights permanently. People cannot be owned or destroyed, even by their own consent.

In Utah, even if proven mentally ill after commiting aggravated child assault, the perp must serve a mandatory 30 day sentence before being released into a mental health living facility. They then serve a mandatory one year in the mental health facility. I guess where they go from there depends on what the doctors at the facility decide the perps mental status is.

In NY they serve their sentence in prison..10, 15 years...think they're getting out and then BIGGITY BAM! You ain't goin' nowhere baby raper!

I believe I said it was my opinion.
I have faith in God.
Never once did I say I speak for God.
You seem to have issues with anyone who believes in God, because you did not address my points... but have attacked my belief in God which was just background to my thoughts on the subject.

Not trying to start another big argument here, but following the tenets of a religion is not at all the same as believing in God. Plenty of folks believe in God even though they may share few beliefs in common. It is your adherence to a particular set of religious beliefs that leads you to your conclusions about homosexuals, not your belief in god.

Why? If I gave consent, and that's what I want, isn't that all that matters?

You cannot give consent to have your ability to give consent removed. As an individual you have a responsibility to make your own decisions, just as with authority you can deligate it but cannot delegate your own responsibility for the decisions made. As an individual you are the chairman, CEO and president of your own life. You cannot give that responsiblity away.

I have reason to my opinion.
You may not be able to disagree with people or an opinion without hating them, but I can.
Disagreement does not equal hate.
