I wasn't going to post in this thread, but I wanted to make a single comment:

I personally wouldn't have repealed DADT, but I hope that it has a positive effect, and not a backlash. I hope gays that want to serve their country are respected accordingly.

I lied. One more comment:

Dutch - you're assertion that you are okay socializing with gays, but wouldn't want them fighting next to you, is purely asinine.

Yes, we all know how to show respect to our soldiers by calling them baby killers and spitting in their faces when they come home from war.

So, you take mythical elements and equate them to a whole idea. I could assign to all conservatives the appalling state of veteran's benefits in this country, or the desire to attack Iran, or any other of a number of things. I supposed I lack the fundamental simple-mindedness to characterize people that way.

Blanket generalizations are easiest Eric. They don't require any thinking.
