Pierre Jackson scored 49 points tonight on 70% shooting from the field and 16-18 from the line. Dennis Schroder had 20 points in a loss and Ian Clark and Gobert got DNP/CD. I think they have to clear some roster space for them.

Mr. Jackson also had time to hand out 4 assists.

Jackson is leading the DLeague in scoring with Jeffers third. Kendal Marshall is leading it in assists, and Brian Butch is leading it in reoubnding who will be Gobert's and Clark's teammate.

I always liked pierre jackson

Damn, how many 40 point games does Pierre have?
That goes to show you that the D-League is a level below college, most likely.

Last night Gobert had 16 points 14 rebounds and 6 blocks. Ian had 14 points on a lot of shots and Bakersfield lost. Interestingly Reno has Ike Diogu on their roster who has a high first round pick years ago and was involved in a trade invovling Brandon Rush.

No, the talent in the D-League is higher. Different systems, and different objectives. There are players in College who could put up crazy numbers, but its all about getting the team wins and showing the entire game.

Honestly, the whole talent war does get pretty political starting in the AAU and amateur basketball teams. I've played against D1 players from New Mexico, Marquette, (not to mention Arizona, where I was at school... played with a lot of those guys, back when folks like Quinn Tebbs (sp?) were getting washed out of the program). While they are certainly good/great players I still think the best player I have every played against actually went to school at Pima Community College, then on to the USAF. He was being looked at by Arizona for a scholarship, but in some pickup games he destroyed one of Arizona's players. The talked about offer from Arizona never came. He ended up going to the USAF, and now that he's out he's trying to get into the D-League but can't (he's already 28... pretty tough age to get in there, and he's also a classic tweener as a 6'4" shooting guard).

So much of basketball is politics/networking/etc it's crazy. I still think that AAU is the reason players have no fundamentals these days because it's all about parents checking out stat sheets after a game. I ref'd a game there once... had parents from the loosing team come up after the game and threaten me because I just destroyed their child's life after their team lost in front of some College scout.

There are some programs like Duke and Arizona that recruit specific players with specific skills AND character, and then spend time developing them to fit into the system. There are others (*cough, Kentucky) that are mercenary shops. D-League is a developmental house for the NBA. I just don't think you can compare the two. It's a whole different world.

Totally disagree with your most likely. How can a league with more experienced players who draw their players from most of the better college players be in any way inferior to the level of ball played in college. Indeed the fact that Mr. Jackson is scoring more than he did in college should indicate that he is improving as a basketball player which is the purpose of the D-league.

Just to play devil's advocate- The best college players go into the NBA. Many others go to Europe where they can get paid a lot more. Having watched a lot of D-League, and looking at the rosters, I think many college basketball programs have better overall talent. Of course, there are a lot of college teams and the pool of talent varies from team to team. Of course, many young NBA players get dropped down to the D-League to develop, so there is some good talent.

The other big factor is the D-League has to play by NBA rules (Defensive 3 seconds, etc.). The NBA has gone from primarily being a sport to primarily being a business, and they have tailored the rules to make the game "more exciting" and bring in more fans/revenue. These rules favor scoring/offense. College basketball is much more defensively oriented. And a good zone defense can bring down scoring tremendously.

There are so many more college players, I don't know how you compare. I'd guess the D-league has about 200 players. If you take the current top 200 college players and compare them to the D-league, I would think the college players are better. You have four years worth of future NBA draft picks (not counting international players) and players that don't make the NBA and end up in other leagues (including the D-league). If this is the comparison, I would pick the college players hands down.

Overall, college has much better and much worse talent compared with the D-League.

Was the guy you played rat ball with Antoine Hood? If so he is on Idaho's roster that is undefeated mainly to Mr. Jackson's heroics.

I watched a DLeague game a few years ago and there was a player for Rio Grande Valley that was clearly the best player on the court. I decided to look his stats up and he was a starter at North Carolinia the year they won the national title and averaged in double figures in scoring and rebounding and started to them. He was a good DLeague player and sucky NBA player.

For me, D-League could be the place where the most chotic basketball being played. Zero coaching, no evidence of gameplan for most of the teams.

Pg's are like playing NBA 2k my player games. Ballhogging forever, assisting to fill the stat sheet.

Top D-League performers are nearly ALWAYS backcourt players. Guess why? Because of swaggy pg/sg's.
Chris Douglas-Roberts, Andrew Goudelock, Kent Bazemore, Pierre Jackson, Glen Rice (SF) etc etc.

D-League is worse than Summer League imho.
College has its own style of basketball. Most D-League games are like pickup games.
Hate you NBDL!!

Another DLeague dude worth keeping an eye on is Manny Harris playing with the LA Defenders. He has a career scoring average in the NBA of about 6.5 points over 80 games for the Cavs. He's a 6'5" 2 guard from Michigan and was undrafted in the 2010 joining Jeremy Lin in the undrafted status that year. That was the year Favors was picked #3 Hayward #9 and Jeremy in the 2nd roun.d

Last night I was in attendance as the No. 1 and No. 2 propsects squared off against each other. The No. 1 propsect Devin Ebanks a former Lakers 2nd round pick and the Pelicans 2nd round pick Pierre Jackson. Jackson had 41 points and Ebankds had 17 in a double OT win for Jackson's team. There was a smaller point guard playing for the Texas team that was the WCC player of the year in 2011 and he had 31 points and 5 assists. Also how is this for a line. Dee Bost who was in Portland's camp this fall and is a point guard had 19 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists. The 16 rebounds is impressive for a point guard since former NBA big Melvin Ely was in the game. I think Ebanks is better than RJeff and Rush right now. All of the aforementioned points are better than Luke3.

Gtf... Melvin Ely.. aint dude like 42 years old?
Ebanks is trash, couldnt stand him at WVU.. always overhyped.

Aint nobody picked up Pierre Jackson yet?? Well.. if Melvin Ely is wobbling around in the D League letting Dee Bost get all the rebounds...

People around the Stampede tell me that New Orleans still has Jackson's rights. He signed with a team in Europe and was either waived or kicked off. How he is playing in the DLeague and not counting against New Orleans 15 players is byond me. So I suspect teams aren't willing to sign him and then have New Orleans demand a ransom.

Suprised some Lakers hoppers with jailhouse tats havent started a demand to the Buss family to sign Pierre Jackson.

Regardless.. N.O.P probably letting Jackson marinade in.the DLeague.
