Not sure if any of you have seen this, but this the highlights from the Nike Peach Jam. Andrew Wiggins Vs Julius Randle!

- Wiggins, shows me in this game that given the green light, he really can be an amazing player. He's always watching where the ball is and dominating on both ends, especially in the open court.

- Randle, is one of the best finishers in traffic that I've ever seen! He would be absolutely perfect not just for the NBA but also the NBA Playoffs, where intensity rises. People would try to foul him but his double-pump power moves are just impossible to stop.

Both players have incredible focus and fearlessness. They went right at each other like two warriors defending their countries' honor! So cool to see players with that kind of passion for the game these days. I just don't see that as much anymore.

I would seriously empty the entire roster to get these two guys. They're both scoring machines while also being excellent defenders. The rest of the team could be made up of role players. In fact, the rest of the team, I would fill with athletic defenders. If you need a bucket in a close game, I'd pass it into Randle and watch him power his way through 2-3 defenders. He really is that good. Wiggins, along with some good defender teammates would be amazing in the open court as well as keeping the pace of the game high. Of course, it would take real vision and faith to do this. If they're not willing to pull the trigger then I most definitely will.

Don't get me wrong, I think Parker will be a great player as well. The same with Hakeem 2.0. There's just something more about Wiggins and Randle that makes other players just go ooh and aah. That tends to work in your favor. :)

Of course, I know many of you saw this game, but this is what sold me on him.

"Terrific strength and terrific concentration".

Plus, he has amazing body control and touch around the rim.

I think I take Embiid 3rd. True centers that can be a primary offensive option and can anchor a defense are perhaps the rarest type of player and also the easiest to build around.

My dream scenario would be to get Parker or Wiggins and Embiid. But at third, if Parker and Wiggins are gone, right now it is between Exum and Embiid for me.

I just want the Jazz to get two picks in the top 6 or 7. If we could do that without giving up Burke, Hayward or Favors, we could be ridiculously good.

Think about a lineup of Burke, Exum, Hayward, Favors and Embiid. That would probably be one of the best defensive lineups in the league, and would have a chance to win a bunch of games.

I fell asleep last night while doing the fantasy Jazz lineups in timeouts. Since there's no restore button available and I can't even recall all the guys I wanted on the team around Exum I'll do the short version.
Hayward for Bradley + extra asset(future non lottery first rounder)
Draft Rodney Hood with the GSW pick.
With our early second do whatever you want. I don't see a perfect puzzle piece to complement the depth.
I stumbled over something while watching lineups, age of players and future drafts. The depth at power forward is shrinking significantly. Especially in the last years there's been very little quality entering the NBA. So what I'm doing at this spot is up in the air a little. I think we need an impact right away as my favorite solution would be making a case for Kevin Love to sign as a FA. He'll choose winning over market as he's not winning in Minny. So if Kanter can stretch the court and get more mobility he might be the best option at PF for the next couple of years while you reenter the playoff picture. I don't really see Kanter giving the Jazz anyone back in return who's quality at 4 and more athleticism while also shooting reliably at least till 18 feet. I thought about Tristan Thompson, but his shooting is suspect, he might clog the paint too much with Favors, even though I'd like that lineup defensively. Greg Monroe's shooting is still suspect and I feel even though Monroe is quicker and a better player he wouldn't add too much for the Jazz. I think Kanter + Burks for him might not improve the Jazz enough to justify that move.
I thought about the Morris twins and Al Horford, but I don't think anyone is for sale unless massive overpay. Same with Nikola Mirotic. Boy would I be thrilled to have Mirotic.
I'm also not sure how to score something with Burke in that scenario, but I feel I could take an extra year to figure that out while Exum develops.
I guess some new GMs would love to take Burke + Kanter as a package. Maybe ATL would do it in 2015 for Horford, Toronto would most certainly do it but have nothing to give back that would help the Jazz in that scenario. A lot of teams that might want Burke unfortunately have nothing to return like Houston, LA, Boston, Milwaukee, New York, Orlando, Sacramento. I feel only future considerations would be help the Jazz win and that's not helping my plan to pick up Kevin Love.

So my depth chart would be looking like:
Burke/Bradley
Exum/Burks/Bradley
Hood/Burks
Kanter/Evans
Favors/Gobert

+ early second rounder. But I don't like this team as much as I can't create reasonable trades that would help build around Exum even though I love Exum's game. Would prolly need a longer rebuild to do that the best way. I see that team winning and improving, but I don't see them clicking in a 2nd round playoff game.

If we had sth like
Bradley/Exum
Exum/Burks
Stanley Johnson/HOod
Mirotic/Evans
Favors/Gobert
but I don't see that happening.

Agreed ......Randle is now what Zach Randolph took 10 years to figure out. He may not be the best player in the draft; but I predict right now he wins ROY next year.

Then why trade that much to move up?

Because I don't see Burks or Kanter fitting in, and Parker is better than anyone at #3, and risk isn't worth it. If I can give up three players that are very solid players, maybe even All-Stars, for one guy, that is top 5 offensively in the NBA, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I think Burke, Hayward, Jabari, Favors is better than any combination of Burke, Hayward, any other draft pick, Kanter, Burks.

One caveat, and it's contingent on development, but: if Embiid continues to show leaps-and-bounds improvement, he could be a primary offensive player and defensive lynchpin as a CENTER. Those players are very easy to build around and success easy to sustain.

If the Jazz get a top-3 in this draft, I am going to be very, very happy. As long as they stick to Embiid, Parker, and Wiggins and don't screw it up by grabbing Julius Randle.

why is everyone so meh on gordon. I wouldn't put him with wiigins and parker but I don't think he's a bust. I think he has room to improve his game wjich is a good thing. I think he will be better than Hayward.

I have not watched him play much but I do check the box scores each game and yuck

I'm all for Embiid. I like him more than Randle at this point, and Smart and Exum are both SG/PG, which I don't think is a big need. If Jazz were at 4 and Parker/Wiggins/Embiid are both gone, then it gets a little tricky. Do you take Randle and play him over Kanter, or Exum and move Hayward to SF?

You mean do we take randle and play him over marv :-)

What don't you like about Randle?

Not looking for an argument - just want to know your opinion.

Are there any concerns about how Emiid will fit alongside Favors? I like the physicality, but it seems like in this version of the NBA a "Twin Towers" setup is more of a liability than a boon.

True, but what separates him, for me, is that he never backs down from anyone. The other video shows him going hard right at Wiggins. I love how he bumps people off-balance similar to what Shaq did. That's really hard to stop, especially if you're a shot blocker. You'd constantly be kept off-balance. Then, if that doesn't work, he always double-pumps at the end = no "shot" at blocking it. ;)

The only time Wiggins blocked it was when he didn't do either of those things and put it up softly across the lane. You'll notice he didn't do that again. I dunno, I just think he's awesome. Although, I'd take any of these guys, to be honest. Any of them could help the Jazz win more games, for sure.

i chose randle only because i feel like favors can be 5 and randle would complement trey bit more. randle would need to get better at pick & roll for sure, but a natural low post scorer is hard to come by.

i think embiid's upside is slightly higher, but his floor is much much lower. i can't gamble #3 pick away like that. at worst we are getting zebo in randle.

Randle. I have money that Exum will opt for college rather than jumping into the pro's.
