Draft Homers List 2023

Nobody mentioning Colby Jones yet. I can't help but think of the @KqWIN material he put in the draft thread about guys in past drafts who are projected to have low ceilings, but end up way over producing against their draft position.
I mentioned him early in the season but yeah… taking him in the 20s seems like a great bet.

John Collins, Bobby Portis, Trey Lyles, Chimezie Metu, Jabari Smith, PJ Washington, and Christian Wood immediately come to mind and that's just the guys who have actually stuck. Not to say they are all exactly like Hendricks, but they are all variations on the same player.

I just don't think Hendricks has any kind of standout feel and I think he greatly benefitted from an easy schedule. I expect him to just not be dynamic/tough enough to be a real difference maker in the NBA. I think he will have a solid and long career because his archetype has value, but I don't expect him to hold down long term starter jobs.

We've seen plenty of good single year college shooters fail to reproduce those % in the NBA and I think his perimeter defense is greatly overrated and closer to a weakness than a strength.
Maybe Jeff Green. He's had a solid NBA career.

Yeah, he’s super vanilla so he’s kinda uninteresting to me, but I like him quite a bit. Something I try to remember is that blandness is what allows the spicier things to actually work.

The other part of that, though, is that he doesn’t seem to have any red flags at all, either, and sometimes that’s what can make a player stand out.

His PnR game is really good because his floater is so great, only issue is that his jumper is not so great. If he can develop the jumper I think he can be similarish to Quickley, but that's a big IF. I like his activity on defense though. I don't quite see the path to him being a star, but he could easily be a 10+ year vet.
