Draft Night get Together?

Living half way around the world in the Philippines makes it a little difficult, so I will have to pass. If Sloanfeld shows up kick his @ss for me. lol

I drove through Reno on the way to San Francisco last week... I was really surprised at how big of a **** hole it is...

Am I accurate on that?
I used to do a ton of travel in a previous job and it's my opinion that Reno and Cleveland are the two suckiest cities in America, but since Reno has Tahoe nearby I would pick it in a heartbeat over Cleveland which is just plain depressing and awful.

So if we draft Knight at 3 then we get this player named Together at 12? Never heard of him.

Anyone have a scouting report on Together?

Not looking promising. It is too bad. I was really looking forward to making fun of dudes like NUMERICATTITUDE

I wouldn't mind hosting. We could get a low stakes cash game going before/after (not sure when it starts). Good times! Not sure how many people I can handle, but since the response hasn't been overwhelming I think we'll be alright.

It is on 6/23, right?

I never thought much of Reno until I lived here. We would stop on our way to San Fran sometimes and didn't think much of the city. But living here is another story. This is a great little town. It has the casino life if you like that, but it is not invasive in day to day life. The schools are generally good to very good/excellent. There are a ton of activities within 1/2 hour of Reno, not just Tahoe. The weather is great. It gets cold and some snow in the winter, but nothing like Utah (as a point of comparison, the Ogden/SLC area). Here it is always 10-15 degrees warmer in the winter at a minimum. Reno has a generally longer summer but without the 100 degree days in Utah. Our hottest time here is shorter than in Utah and 5-10 degrees cooler. So outdoor activities are far more pleasurable with milder weather. It is like other high-desert cities with not a lot of greenery, although on the east bench it gets into the Sierra Nevadas like SLC bumping up against the Wasatch. The city has relatively little crime and has been a great place to raise kids, very family friendly, but still with a thriving nightlife if you want that. We really like it here and plan on staying here long-term, career- and economy-willing.

What in your travels would make you think Reno is such a crappy city? I never got that impression of the city even before we lived here and I was just passing through.

To all of you yankees, 3000 kilometers would probably be circa 1800 miles. Metric system, it rocks eh?

Reno 911, but the closest I have been to Reno is Colorado, so I really have no opinion.

Will people who actually live in the valley actually respond to this? Holy cow, how many foreign dudes does jazzfanz have?
