Punch Bowl Re-Filler
So you didn't get my sarcasm, or you really think a guy who shoots 38%/30% overall but hits an occasional game winner is a stud PG?This is why nobody takes you seriously.

Trey's not being called a franchise player, star or a stud. It's still too early for Lindsey to give up on him for an unknown from half way around the world or another pg who can't shoot.
And where have I ever proposed trading him this year? I've already said if they draft Exum, it would make a nice 3 guard rotation with Exum, Burks and Burke. The trade would happen at the deadline or next summer. Hopefully Burke shows he has improved his shot. No one wants a guard who shoots 38%/30%, especially one who is short and slow afoot.
On the other hand, if an unbelievable deal did come about - i.e. one for an all-star, and that team WANTED Burke, you do it in a heartbeat. But that's the case with pretty much any player on the Jazz. Utah has ZERO all-stars. If someone is stupid enough to offer us one in a 2-for-1 deal, it has to be considered.
This is a business. If a GM can upgrade at ANY position, he'll do it.
Looking to upgrade the team is the job of EVERY GM.Here's your quote from the NewsFlash thread. That's the thread stating Trey won't be traded:
Lindsey perhaps can upgrade Burke this year. But Lindsey won't, he just drafted him.
Looking to upgrade the team is the job of EVERY GM.
So Durant and Westbrook are going at it after their embarrassing loss. If OKC decides to trade Westbrook and we can give them Burke as a replacement PLUS another asset, Jazz don't do it because Lindsey can't trade a player he drafted last season?
I also said in the thread that the Jazz woukd have a great 3-man rotation if they drafted Exum. You conveniently didn't quote that one. Are you related to Trey or are you just blind to the fact he had a less than impressive rookie season?
Remember the Jazz' miracle season under Jerry? Who got COY? Hubie Brown. Look at that Memphis team. Solid from 1-10. The deepest in the league. But their ceiling was 50 wins and the 2nd round. Why? Because their "star" was a soft Pau Gasol and they had no other key leaders. Some of those players have gone on to have nice careers, even all-star appearances. But they never had a #1 guy.
If Embiid is drafted, Favors or Kanter become expendable. Draft Wiggins and Hayward can be had in a S&T. Or Burks can be traded. Draft a PF and Kanter might be dealt. We have ZERO, I repeat ZERO all-stars. How do you compete without any all-stars?
"Looking" and "doing" are two different things.
I believe Lindsey isn't even trying to upgrade Burke this year. If the phone rings, then that's a different story, but clubs aren't lining up to make Trey their starting pg. Trey has more value to the Jazz this year than anyone else, as worthless as you seem to think he is. I'll stand by my reasoning.
Exum/Burke/Burks is a different conversation, but I think that rotation makes less sense than drafting Gordon.
