Dunn deal is done

Dunn is an example of the "interchangables" at the end of an NBA bench and guys floating around in the GLeague.

With the condition of staying healthy - I highly disagree. His MCL tears and constant coaching changes lead where he was before now getting another chance. I have never seen him as a starter in a good team of course but if he is healthy and the team is well ran he belongs easily in the depth chart. If he stays away from massive injury troubles I will be shocked if he ever wears another G-league jersey. He would be imo in lot of teams among the 10 best players and will have a solid end for his career, if his health gives him a break here. ¨Just a real small portion in the g-league will never reach his current level which is not far from what he was under Hoibergs's Bulls. And that's a solid NBA player.

“Me and Lauri talk every day — about the way he plays, how the team plays, what certain guys like to do,” Dunn said.

Dunn likened it to walking into a new class for the first time and seeing your friend sitting there.
Sounds like Dunn is fine by Lauri, for whatever it's worth.

It's worth a lot to have a friend in team that is one of the guards to feed the ball. Here is the highlights from Lauri in his rookie season debut in MSG. Had season high 33. Dunn assisted almost all of them buckets.

When he had the charge to move the ball, things were ok. Their other guards and wings were horrible chuckers back then. Grant, Holiday, Lavine, Valentine... taking idiotic shots instead of the right pass to make.

We need a reliable PG and it doesn't necessarily have to be Dunn. But he have shown he can play so sign him? We traded away Mike and naw and bought out westbrick and Sexton is injury prone. We need another guard

Kanter was "guarding" him on most of those points, so it really doesn't count.

You must be crazy if you think Lauri has any say in personnel decisions at this point. He'll need a max deal for that.
You must be crazy if you think Jazz would want to piss off Lauri at this point. He sure doesn't have leverage to tell the Jazz "Hire this and this player", but I think it is pretty damn safe to believe you won't see Jazz hiring WCJ just to make Lauri feel unhappy.

Ok so first of all, I'm pretty sure they don't consult Lauri on who they should trade for or ask him to green light a trade in general. I'm pretty sure Lauri wouldn't want to be asked that for a guy he hasn't played with. However whenever you recruit a player who is a former teammate of someone in your roster.. of course you ask them. Its the best way to get insight on what type of guy he is in the locker room.

I'm 90% sure they asked him on some random bypassing moment something like "what do you think about Kris Dunn?" as a standard peer scouting report type of thing. Only reason I'm 90% sure is because Dunn is on a 10-day contract so its not like they go the extra mile on due diligence on those filler deals.

If they were to consider giving lots of assets for a guy like Zach Lavine, I'm sure Lauri would be consulted in much more detail and they would also ask the question: "Do you want to play with him?". But if they went for Mikal Bridges, Lauri wouldn't know that before the others in that locker room.

Yeah, might be an option. But THT isn't playing 40+ minutes, which would mean quite a lot of Dunn-Jackson minutes. And I'm purely guessing Hardy would rather see Dunn-Ochai/Jackson-Ochai.

Or maybe we go with Lauri as the point-forward and he gets 10+ assist. Never know with this team.
