It’s shocking to me that people don’t think a statement like that would be forgotten, ESPECIALLY, if it’s not one frequently made. If that’s something similar to the way Lindsey talks frequently, Snyder doesn’t make the comment he did. Snyder saying he can’t fathom Lindsey saying that is very telling, imo.

Imagine a world where DL did say what he's accused of saying.

It's not hard to come up with reasons why Snyder might have made the exact same comment in that world. Snyder's comment removes himself from culpability without outright denying that it happened while also sticking up for his GM. Snyder's a genius, and that would be a genius maneuver.

It's also entirely possible DL never said anything like that and Snyder is simply telling the truth, but I don't think his comment automatically discounts the possibility.

Here’s my take. Much like when a woman claims rape, we now have to assume that Millsap is telling the truth. Obviously questions need to be asked, multiple times, in different ways to Elijah, Dennis, Quin, anyone else that was either in the room or immediately saw them after the exit interview. Perhaps, Lindsey’s secretary. Quin’s. I’d assume they each have one or a PA of some sort. I’d interview Paul, their uncle, Lindsey’s wife if those are at all possible as well. Elijah’s former college teammates and closest friends if those are possible. And of course, every single Utah Jazz player that was on the team since Lindsey has been here. And all of this has to be done by an outside firm hired by the league but paid for by the Jazz organization if that’s at all possible. Any of this that is legal that can be done and which is agreed to by said interviewees are musts.

If the findings come back unflattering, Lindsey needs to be fired. There’s no room for that, slip up or not. Not six years ago and certainly not now. Not in a league that’s predominantly black. And not for an organization that already has a few racist incidents in its recent past.

I totally hear where Cy is coming from. What does Elijah have to gain from this? Most likely, not much. But maybe he’s just bitter and pissed how his life turned out and blames Dennis for not lasting longer in the league as he played just two more NBA games after he departed. Maybe he has monetary issues and is looking to cash in somehow since we have a new rich-*** owner. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility. I certainly wouldn’t lean in that direction but it’s possible. Anything is. But for now, Elijah should be taken at his word, and all due diligence should be done in as swift a manner as possible before making any decisions.

And lastly regarding Quin’s comments, they’re not very reassuring.

Obviously Quin was put in a tough spot because he doesn't want to throw an ex player or his boss under the boss. However, the strength with which he said what he said about DL was telling for me. I get it isn't conclusive but he made a pretty clear stand on where he is at if they do investigate.

And if that’s the case, Quin would’ve known to say, “Dennis absolutely never said any such words,” or something of the like. Not to script stuff out but if Dennis truly hadn’t said such, I’d assume Quin or any man with decent honor would stick up for the wrongfully accused, boss or not. But Quin didn’t say anything of the sort. He gave your templated CEO response that someone above said is genius and I find far from it because it might as well be a punchline by now.

I’m all for believing Elijah yet waiting until DD is done by the team and NBA to make any decisions. But this isn’t a good look imo.

I think I could see your point if he stopped there, but he also added in that he cannot even fathom DL saying something like that. If I were dodging I wouldn’t follow it up with how I couldn’t imagine someone doing the thing that I conveniently don’t remember.
