That's how Arabs generally operate. And by the way, the Middle East was pretty tolerant not long ago. Dalamon is not talking about the middle ages. This fundamentalist plague is quite recent, and the ME was well on its way to modernity less than 70 years ago. The situation with Islam was similar to Christianity nowadays (very few gave a rat's *** outside of personal practice), and this new breed of Islam was born due to a series of unfortunate events, and some disastrous policies by Britain and a few other European nations.
There is a big difference between Dalamon's view and mine, of course. To Dalamon, Islam had been corrupted by those people, and a true form of Islam is still a great and peaceful religion. In the correct view, Islam and other religions are fully man-made, and there is no such thing as "good Islam" and "bad Islam". There is only what we have today. What ought to be is irrelevant until it becomes the norm. And Islam in its current form is a horrible and dangerous thing that must be opposed and condemned by any moral individual, including all reasonable Muslims. Regardless of the "not every Muslim is a terrorist" simple mindedness, ten of millions of Muslims do support, or at least sympathize, with the militant Islamic view. Dalamon can debate his version of Islam with other Muslims all he wants. The debate of "what Islam truly says" should not matter AT ALL to anyone who's not a Muslim. I don't even see the point of bringing it up. Until the Muslim world changes its ways, people must take a firm stand against it.

I think the opposite. We ought to put out a film like that every day. Give them so much to rage about thaqt they overdose on rage, until the whole thing becomes banal and no longer noteworthy to most of the Muslims who get angry today.

What I cannot believe is that the US govt exposed the actual name of the film maker. Read their words too- Hillary said that Washington does not approve of the movie, so they provide the name of the guy that did so that the muslim world can vent their considerable anger. And the press is spreading it around. Americans are blaming this guy for the death of others.

You're talking about people that are willing to kill others over their religous beliefs. They don't belong in this century. No amount of coddling or condemnation will ever help.
Not this American. While I think the director was foolish to make the movie he is not the guilty party. The men/women that stormed the embassy and fired the rocket are the guilty parties.

Which US government official leaked his name, to whom, and how would the UD government even know it? Are you referring to the "Sam Bacile" pseudonym, which was the name used to load the videos into YouTube, and are yo sahying it is even sensible to refer to a YouTube username as being "leaked"? Since in that web post, Lach doesn't even have his name, when was this leak made?
His movie is the excuse they are using for justification of their actions. So I think comments about the director making garbage material into movies is legitimate subject for this thread.
However if not his movie the rioters than would have found something else. They alone are responsible for their actions, not the director. Even if he is a sleaze.
It terms of whetehr the name was leaked, it does not. It terms of the connotation that the director is an victim, it does.
