Embassy attacked in Libya

I don't think any of those countries really care about Americans at all, not to mention the American flag.

Especially the Brits, whose banks run the Fed.

There is often a big disconnect between the governments feelings and positions and its citizens.

Europeans have a warped view on america as the red america. They see america as religious, conservative, everyone having a gun, etc. They see america as many Americans see Texas.

I'm not sure how many Americans see Texas, but I've always looked at Texas as one of the last bastions of true freedom.

Bill Maher and Christopher Hitchens, wants drugs to be legal etc.

What do you consider drugs?
Because I've only heard Bill Maher talk about the legalization of marijuana, which by the way would be a good thing for the economy.

I'll answer for him, he considers marijuana a drug (because it is). It would be good for the economy, and it would be good for everyone. I heartily doubt that usage would go up much, while incarceration and other such related non-sense would go down dramatically. Not to mention it would make alcohol and tobacco policy make a lot more sense.

I am saying they have a warped view america... Also I never said Bill Maher or Christopher Hitchens supported drugs, they were separated by commas like if I say this sentence:

Some of my favorite books are Dr Seuss books, Harry Potter, and Redwall.

I am not saying Harry Potter and Redwall are Dr. Seuss Books.

Just think of all the money legalizing it would save. Les s incarcerations, law enformcement savings...

Hmm... I see.
I consider marijuana to be an herb, or a plant. Same thing.....

But at least we agree it would be a good thing for everyone, not to mention the amount of money that could be made.
Then again, the government would just find a new way to waste all that tax revenue as well.
This is where state governments would have to step in.

The school where I teach had a bomb threat (again) in August. They are hardly unusual.

No they are not unusual but if they are in connection to what is going on that is a clear escalation of the issue.

Did the threat at your school involve multiple bombs and the caller identifying himself as al Qeada?

No idea. Since no bombs were found, these threats did not involve multiple bombs either, and anyone can say they are with al Qeada.

Dear brothers and sisters from all the different religions,

We live in the 21st century. I thought it would be a period of time where people would show some tolerance, respect and progress to each other but it seems that not much has changed so far. It seems like we’re going back to the Middle Ages where fanaticism and hate used to be common and a reason for much disaster all around the world.

Do never forget that hate against Jews, Christians and Muslims doesn’t get us anywhere. They all have the same origin and so, they often have the same prophetes and stories. Whether it’s written in the Bible, the Koran or the Torah: they all believe in the same and one god!

Those similarities should get us closer and shouldn’t make us enemies. We should be able to prove more tolerance, understanding and fraternalism. Instead of fighting against each other, we should help each other out and continue to have good conservations and especially, a better relationship.

Do never think bad of any religion by seeing some fanatic and mentally weak people. Stop having prejudices without knowing anything. Stop insulting each other with provocations by degrading some people’s belief! Never forget that there is a big potential for violance and that you can lead to some if you don’t behave correctly. Last not least, do always treat people the way you want them to treat yourself!

A muslim brother

Tell that to your millions of "brothers" in the ME. They seem pretty enthusiastic to burn American flags, kill "infidels", run extremely corrupt and intolerant governments, and mutilate women.

I have yet to see on American TV any Christian Americans burning Egypt's or Iran's flag.

Come to think of it... maybe I will! Before the Utah game, while I'm burning a Ute flag, I'll throw in an Iranian flag. Hopefully I'll make TV. Then again, Muslim brothers on the other side of the world will probably use my flag burning as an excuse to attack another American embassy and murder more American diplomats.

The problem here isn't religion. The problem here are corrupt governments living off American and UN welfare, bad economies, poor education, and punkasses wanting attention/wanting to gain more "foreign aid welfare."

Does that sort of ignorant stereotyping come naturally, or did you train for it?

It's almost like we're the most powerful nation in the world, so you can make a point in burning our flag as opposed to, for example, Norway.

underKanter's comments are obviously directed at everybody. It's not his fault that more Middle-Eastern Muslims aren't on jazzfanz.
