Enes Kanter for Otto Porter: A Wizards Fan's Perspective

Yeah very smart.

They would take Kris Humphries over Enes. If that's not the definition of smart I don't know what is.

The reason they don't want any part of Enes is he is getting paid next season and that interferes with their dream to get KD. And that's it.

So so smart...

Fans are a funny lot. Kanter is worth Porter plus assets because Kanter will still be in the league in 3 years. Seriously though, Kanter would tear things up in the East. Those teams know it and one will offer him a fat paycheck.

Fans know that Kanter is not a two way player and don't want him for that reason. Well and that he is going to get paid this summer. I reckon that every GM feels the same. We are not going to get a whole lot for Kanter. Prolly should just hang on and hope that he is ok being our 6th man.

It is the makings of a poor mans Al Jefferson

It is comments like this that make it hard for me to take you serious.

Al shoots 35% from 10-16 feet, Kanter shoots 46%.

Al Jefferson doesn't shoot theee's and still only shoots 48% FG, Kanter does shoot three's but yet his FG% is still above 50%.

Al Jefferson's ORB% is 5.4, Kanter's is 12.4

Kanter is mobile, Al is not. You'll actually see Kanter being one of the first down the floor on a fast break.

Al Jefferson has no drive game, Kanter has some monster moves and drives.

Al Jefferson only shoots 69% from FT, Kanter shoots 81%

Al Jefferson is fat, Kanter is fit.

Kanter is 22 and is already better than big Al.

So, Kanter to Charlotte?

I have long thought Charlotte was a likely landing spot for him. Trouble is they have Three young bigs...Cody Zeller, Biyombo, and injured Vonleh. Plus Big Al still has a player option for 13.5 next season.

Poor Charlotte has got a roster full of nothing as far as trades go, but they could have the cap room to sign Kanter outright if Al and Henderson opt out.

You would think with all that fitness, mobility, offensive rebounding, and shooting ability Kanter would be able to get to the FT line more than 2 twice per game while take 12 FGA per game.

But he can't because he is a poor man's Al Jefferson. Make Kanter a 1st option and all those % will be below Big Al's %. (Besides the 3pt% of course)

Oh, I'm down with keeping Kanter. Reserve bigs all over the place making 9 million +. You can afford that as long as Gobert is on his rookie contract, and Kanter still has upside. I just think it is funny how Wizard fans are overvaluing Porter. Always trade a guy who will be in the League in the future for a guy who will be out, especially if it is a small for a big. I'm not even sure I would trade Burke for Porter.

No way do Al and Henderson opt out. You want to be a free agent in 2016 when the salary cap gets a bump.

Or people realize Kanter is a defensive liability with an extremely streaky jump shot and lacks the ability to get to the FT line or pass?

There are plenty of marginal to poor defensive players collecting fat paychecks in the NBA. (Al Jefferson immediately comes to mind.) Not everyone is a great two-way player, and coaches with good defensive schemes can (presumably) figure out ways to make it work.

On top of this, Kanter is someone who gives evidence of really trying to improve; he's not just somebody collecting a paycheck. He's nowhere near his ceiling, at least, I think he's not.

This is his contract year. This is the year he works to collect his fat paycheck.
