You don't want a player who averages 6 pts in 20 minutes and does nothing else? That's strange.

Watch some games. Wall/Beal dominate the ball in Washington. If there is one thing I have no doubt Porter can do, it's pass. He was a beast passer at Georgetown (because you have to be to play for Georgetown) he just needs a bigger role in the offense, kind of hard in when Washington guards dominate the ball in pick n roll heavy offense.

I didn't watch him in college. I do watch the Wizards, though. Probably watch a third of their games on ballstreams. I honestly don't see what you're seeing. I see the length, but that is about it.

Why would he get more of the ball in our offebse? What has he don to deserve that? We have other perumeter players, with brigh futures, we are trying to develop. Alec is out for the season, and Rodney is out temporarily, but both will return. We are also looking like we will be selecting in the portion of the draft where wings like Johnson, Winslow, or Russell could be available. All who project better than Porter. So why should I consider giving up Enes when we've been going through hell to develop him?

Wings/Gaurds who we are trying to develop:

Burks
Exum
Hood
Burke
Neto
Clark
2015 draftee?

Then there is Hayward who is established but still improving.


^ That's a handful. If I am the FO, I'm not trying to add another project for a good asset, unless I am 100% sold on their potential.
 
Cy, if tomorrow we will win again convincingly vs the Pacers without Kanter, will you do the "Enes Kanter for Otto Porter III" thread?

The bolded part is a good point against the trade, but here's one reason to DO IT that hasn't been stated:

Even if Enes plays like he has for these past 15 games for the rest of this season, I'm almost certain that any GM would be sweating bullets waiting to see his offer sheet. Enes is still really raw, and this contract is going to feel uncomfortable/risky. The luxury with Porter is that you buy yourself some time before that next contract + he frees up a spot for Rudy in the starting lineup + Porter could very well be an excellent player in a position of need (we fuggin NEED perimeter defense, braugh).

Enes had a string of relatively good games, but his jumper has really fallen off lately. So, the love affair for Kanter is really based on about 10-12 games. Do you feel comfortable inking him if he only shows these glimpses? <-- I'm asking everybody this question. And I'm asking the non-homer version of Sexual Favors, if there is such a thing.
 
I don't understand stupid *** homers who are willing to ruin the team for their ****ty pet player. Just ridiculous.

NVM, just made a new thread. I got different ideas for Porter/Kanter threads for days.
 
I'm surprised most people aren't willing to throw in their first-born as part of the deal.
 
Prediction:
Jazz will extend the QO to Kanter as insurance while they're negotiating with FA's. They will then rescind the QO to Kanter in order to sign Millsap to a max deal. DMC will be offered the MLE with a player opt-out in the second year (so he and Utah can renegotiate a new deal under the higher cap). This board will be flooded with "Fire DL" posts because he let Kanter go for nothing.
