That's part of the question. Kanter would have to play both ends. If he's soft defensively, then it won't work. He probably isn't though. I think any of the playoff teams would want a center who can play defense AND score AND rebound. I'm sure the Bulls, Heat, Mavs, and Thunder would be happy to have a player like Andrew Bynum or Brook Lopez who can impact the game at both ends.

No, I think all those teams would rather stick with their guys who focus on defense and rebounding 100%.
 
And their is no evidence that Kanter is a good defender. We can pretty much assume he can't block shots that well (not that I think that is that important, but it's always nice to have out of your center).

Kanter will be a good to great rebounder in the pros. His offensive ability seems very high.
Unless his defense is as bad as Boozer I don't think it's a big issue for us.
 
Draftexpress added best case/worst case scenarios for every player in the top 15. They have Knight as best case Billups in his prime (championship PG) and Kanter as best case Kevin Love (best player on a **** team)

Boozer actually wasn't that bad of a defender when he was in Cleveland. It wasn't until his big contract and injuries came up that he went soft.
 
Also, Knight's worst case was Louis Williams (still an effective bench scorer), Kanter's is Aaron Gray (which means DX thinks he might be a complete stiff still).
 
I'm starting to like Jonas Valanciunas over Kanter. Better defender, probably a better rebounder, Plays a role that is CRUCIAL to championship basketball. Has proven himself already at EURO level. I think he is the best per minute rebounder in the league?
