What's new

ENES KANTER's 2nd Match is staring now :) >>Turkey - Germany<<< LIVE MATCH LINK HERE :) <<<

Lovin' the ads. Did you see what that Gillette antiperspirant did to the sweat globule under the fireman's arm? I gotta get me some a dat!!!!!

I don't think I've seen one post up play the whole game. Just 3's and drives to the basket.

Kanter posted up twice, but I think that's it. I'm not sure I could think of a worse style of game for Kanter to show what he's capable of. We might as well be watching him play baseball.

Tibor Pleiß is actually pretty good for Germany.

A few thoughts from watching these past 2 games:

First, I think it's pretty obvious why NBA superstars are interested in going to Turkey. Have you guys seen the women in the stands?

Second, my first impression of Enes is that he moves really, really well for a guy his size. He hasn't played particularly well so far (there have been flashes), but I really think when things start to slow down for him that he'll be much, much better. Given his ~2 yr hiatus, the fact that he is playing so "hurried" is quite understandable.

I also think that Enes will get into a fight this year. He's the kind of guy that you hate playing against, because he bullies people, but does it so nonchalantly that he's bound to get under a ton of guy's skin. Harpring did this, but I thing it even rings truer with Enes because he's only 19.

First game he looked pretty bad on D, but the 2nd game I thought he looked a ton better and he actually moves a lot faster than I thought he could.

Overall, I think he's been solid, but everything points to him being really good.

He'll be fine, these are solid plays for his first game back after 2 years.

In all seriousness, don't expect Kanter to dominate in this league.

The dude hasn't played real Basketball in a very very long time. Give the man a break. Besides, anyone else remember Favors in the summer league last year? Dude looked worse than Ostertag in a wheelchair. But what about now?

Secondly, post players are useless in international play. There's a reason why guys like AK, Hedo, and other athletic perimeter players dominate. The whole euro style is to run the ball down as fast as possible and chuck up the first 3 pointer possible. No one even tries to post up or look inside. The 2000 version of Shaq would struggle to put up double digit points in these games yet was the most dominate force on the planet for nearly a decade. Just remember folks, Kanter plays with Hedo. Hedo doesn't even give the ball up to Dwight mother freaking Howard. Why would he give the ball up to Kanter?

Thirdly, at the very least, Kanter has proven to me, that he'll at least hustle, score points inside, and will easily be our #1 rebounder next year. Do basically everything we wanted Boozer to do (but rarely did). If he is complete and utter fail, he's still 100x better than Boom Bitches and Donut Boy. At the veerrryyy least, he'll be a Scola, bigger and more offensive skilled version of Udonis Haslem, more physical, aggressive, and longer version of Carlos Boozer. A guy that will go in and play with energy (something our team lacks especially on the road), eat up a bunch of rebounds, post up occasionally, finish well off dribble penetration from our guards (Hayward, Burks, and Harris), and irritate the other team because he's constantly seeking contact and crashing the boards.
