I'm telling you The Muppets are brainwashing kids and murdering those who dream of sheep in their sleep.
I'll take a wild guess that you've never seen 'The Muppets' or whatever reiteration of 'The Muppets' they're talking about, right? Neither have I. Haven't even heard of The Muppets since I was little kid, didn't even know they are still around. And Eric Bolling and his buddies on Fox probably haven't seen it either. But we both have probably seen media that is overly propagandistic presented in the context of T.V. shows or movies directed at children. Don't you think that deserves some circumspection, no matter the superficiality of it? Because, yes, really your brain does a lot of passive thinking and turns down a few notches when the boob tube is on, so you have to be careful with what you're consuming. Muppets or no Muppets. I mean, that's what this whole topic is about. It's a legitimate issue, whether you think so or not. And obviously, you think Fox News is propaganda, which it certainly is to those that just seep everything in at face value, but the same topic that undergoes soft examination focused on children's programming on one of their shows has left you and Media Matters engaged in bollocks? Sometimes business news programs like to have fun. Was there some crazy boycott the Muppets gathering that I missed? Because I would have liked to be there. Sesame Street is much better.
I think this whole process of waiting for people to slip up so that you can crucify them is anathema to freedom of the press and the free market. All these "Independent" Media watcher groups aren't helpful because they are not interested in just correcting inaccuracies and leaving it at that, they all have agendas and they all have big money controlling those agendas. Whatever happened to get the **** out of my way supply and demand concept of media consumption? If Eric Bolling is so offensive, degrading, and simple-minded, then I'm sure people would stop watching him on their own if we let them and maybe those people on Madison Avenue would pull advertising because their boss says so, and not because some overzealous wankers using hysteric boycotts as weaponry to chill free speech say so.
You've got to be kidding me....
It's a friggin kids show. So they had some bad big business guy as the villain.
Spiderman showed a fired executive/scientist turning into Green Goblin, was Sam Rami trying to overthrow capitalism and promote Communism?
Batman Begins showed a group of anarchists known to have overthrown governments in centuries past, was Nolan trying to promote Anarchy? In the sequel, cops were murdered. Was Nolan trying to promote an agenda to kill cops? Or to protect them? Or was it just part of the storyline of a movie based on entertainment?
See, this is another problem with the right wing. They blame anything and everything on the "liberal" "left wing" evil media. Everything. From their ****ing extramarital sex/harassment (gov of SC, Cain, Newt) to now the supposed "Muppet: Anti-Capitalism Agenda."
The paranoia is getting old. This country is getting tired of the paranoia surrounding homosexuality, differing religions, race, politics of the right wing etc.
Just because most of us feel like spending cuts need to be put together with tax increases, DOESN'T mean we're anti-capitalist or Socialist. It's called, HAVING COMMON SENSE...
We're ultimately getting tired of the right wing NEVER taking accountability for anything and conveniently blaming EVERYTHING with paranoid accusations (Obama has a deep seated hatred for white culture... He's a terrorist.. He's a Nazi... He's trying to take away our guns and god.. He's forcing the catholic church to perform abortion...) on the left wing.
come back to earth, stop blaming everything on the left, and actually come up with some solutions by working with the rest of us. The right has no common sense right now (at least the most vocal right). They'll use a bazooka to swat a fly.
