Eric Dampier Waived

Jerry and KOC have never had nice things to say about him, so I doubt it.

When have they said anything about him? Have a quote?

Doesn't seem like a question that would come up? They aren't even allowed to talk about other teams players. And why would a reporter ask them how he played after a game against the Jazz?

Not sure if that sounds very legit.

I'd pick him up for 3m/yr to be the "other big". Good on defense, bad on just about everything else. A Career 49% ft shooter?

There's no way in hell we're spending more money. Maybe on Fes at his rate but on a player like Dampier who I think would command more in the 2-4M range per, no.

Not really a position of need for Miami atm. But they are signing guys to the vet minimum for the chance to win it all, so you never know.

yeah, I would not see us throwing much more than the vet's minimum at him and for that he will likely go to a bigger market team.

Ya I would give him the Veterans Minimum but I doubt he would take it too.

I would rather have Fesenko for the veterans Minimum than Dampier for 2 Million (just because of the luxury tax this year).

Dampier is also 35 so on his downside of his career anyway. Not to say I would not take him for vet's minimum, but lets be honest about it for the same amount of money they can make in bigger markets how many NBA players would choose Utah? Not to many thats fo sho.

Dampier is to Mavs fans as Ostertag is to Jazz fans. Could he be serviceable for 10 minutes a night? Sure, but he'll likely command more money than those 10 minutes are worth.

C is not a position of need for a team with Ilgauskas (the only passable C on the team, but is practically out of gas), Dexter Pittman, and Jamaal Magloire as their guys? Juwan Howard is not a C, Millsap's as much a center as Joel Anthony is, and Chris Bosh has a ******.

I don't give a **** about Dampier, but he certainly is - at worst - the 2nd best C on that team if they grab him.

KOC has said multiple times that they didn't go after Eric after he was in Golden state because he only has good years in contract years. I'm sure other people here have heard him talk about that.
