You think he's playing in front of Niang? If not, thats the end of the rotation, no?

He should allow us to "manage" Bojan if we need to, as well.
Lying is the issue. Not sure what the issue is. I got this from wikipedia.

So he is likely older than he claims I guess? Either way he is what he is as a player, not sure why this would be that much of a big deal at this point in his career. It is one thing to be a young prospect and quite another to be an established veteran with a full body of work to judge off of.
Oh I see.Lying is the issue.
I don't know... I don't think he was brought in to collect dust... I just don't think it is crazy (which is what I responded to) to think he could take Niang's spot in the rotation. I think its 50/50... could just be injury insurance... could be Niang's replacement. Neither would be crazy or surprising. You think he's playing in front of Niang? If not, thats the end of the rotation, no?
He played Joe Johnson, Jeff Green, Ed Davis, Thabo for longer than he should have. Maybe it is less about vets and more about the established rotation but I think Quin has a reverence for vets. JZ also clearly loves Ersan... coach Bud loves him some Ersan... Its also sometimes considered disrespectful to play vets in garbage time... like they are above it.When in the last 5-6 years did you have an established successful rotation where someone more experienced has disrupted the rotation?
Which "less proven players" in the rotation are getting their minutes cut, in your opinion? What is the new rotation?
He'll take garbage time minutes from Morgan, Brantley and Niang
He'll get minutes when Favors/ Niang/ Gobert/ Bogey/ Ingles are injured/ resting/ COVID/ unavailable. Jazz have been very lucky to have few absences.
If he's in the "non-absence" rotation I would be surprised.
He's an insurance policy because our 10-15 bench is very inexperienced and you want to be able to plug in a vet in the playoff race and playoffs
Bojan has had games where he has lit up the third quarter after a pedestrian first half. I have seen games where it is apparent that something is bothering him as well, especially in some of these three games in 4 nights situations. I would like for there to be some other option than just Niang and Favors if we want to rest himor limit Bojan's minutes a little in those situations. That is a really interesting point. Bogey seems to be hot or cold and Quin sticks with him when he is cold. I don't have stats to back this up, but I don't recall games where he starts cold and then heats up. Does Quin throw in the towel when Bogey is off and go with Ilyasova? Possibly. This goes back to my thesis: he is a cheap insurance policy.
Who are the really good coaches that don't have "reverence for vets"?Maybe it is less about vets and more about the established rotation but I think Quin has a reverence for vets.
Pop has shown he isn't afraid to play the young guys in minutes that matter, but he is the only Pop, so there is that.Who are the really good coaches that don't have "reverence for vets"?
It is a function of who is on the bench and who you have to choose from. - even for Pop. The deeper the bench the more you rely on vets. We did plenty to develop new guys before we ended up being so deep.Pop has shown he isn't afraid to play the young guys in minutes that matter, but he is the only Pop, so there is that.
