ESPN Final Predictions

What sucks though is tier 1 ends after 3. And there's probably nothing on the Jazz that lets them trade up to 3 either.

I don't think that's clear at all. It presently sounds like Embiid goes #1. Assuming the other two you're referring to are Wiggins and Parker I think you're selling Randle, Smart, and Exum short.

I'm really excited to see what DL does at draft time. Between having the GS pick and all of our young players, it's absolutely realistic to get a top 3 pick if he decides one of those players is going to be THE guy.

I hate seeing the Lakers so close to us on this list. That makes me very nervous....**** the Lakers, dammit.

Not to mention a realistic chance to move up. That is lottery order not draft order.

Or even selling Wiggins and Parker a bit high. Embiid certainly looks the part of a franchise center. Yes, I DO believe Parker and Wiggins will be perennial all-stars, but they might not be the all-world players everyone was expecting them to be. As you said, Randle, Smart and Exum just might be close to their level. And there could be a couple more that move up. I'll be very happy if the Jazz can somehow keep in the 5-8 range. The way they've been playing lately (excluding the Minnesota game), it looks like they may slip out of the top-10.

Anywhere but the playoffs for the Lakers makes me nervous. The NBA is successful when the big market teams are successful. That means the NBA WANTS to see great teams in LA and NY. The NBA helped LA get Gasol. No, I'll go beyond that...the NBA was complicit in the backroom deal that sent Pau to LA. Rejecting the first proposal only to approve the next which included the unprecented inclusion of an assistant coach on a third team. The NBA is dirty. I wouldn't be surprised to see a top-3 number come up for a team like the Knicks or Lakers. But probably won't need to cheat for LA; they appear to be headed for a top-5 pick based on their record.

So ESPN thinks we'll only win as many games in the second half of the season as we did during the first half? I think we'll need another 12-game losing streak to make that happen.

ESPN must have talked to the Jazz trainer and learned there is an epidemic of hip injuries happening in Utah.

I don't think Parker has to be "all-world" to be enough for this team. He just has to be an all-star, which we both think he'll be, and the #1 option on our team. When the draft pundits talk about how Wiggins and Parker are not Lebron, they seem to act like they aren't even franchise changers. I don't think they have to be Lebron or Durant to be that. Anyways I liked your post, and I believe we'll be around 4-6 in the position before the lotto balls sort things out. Let's hope we get a little lucky. If we don't let's pray Exum is the real deal ;-)

I sure hope no one is surprised when the Lakers get the #1, and somehow corral another pick in the top 5.

Yeah, thats just being too pessimistic for the Jazz. Or should i say optimistic..

1. Milwaukee Bucks 16-66
2. Orlando Magic 21-61
3. Philadelphia 76ers 24-58
4. Utah Jazz 28-54
5. LA Lakers/Boston Celtics 30-52

If the Lakers and/or Celtics win the lottery or even jump the Jazz I'm going to be pissed.

I can live with the Celtics leapfrogging us in the lottery, but dear sweet baby Jesus please not the Lakers. That would be too much to bear.

Could you imagine the conspiracy theories that would come up after that? Bad enough that most think the lottery is rigged. But if the Lakers manage to win the lottery. It will look bad for years on the NBA IMO.
