The final nail in the coffin for ESPN player ranking:

Nerlens Noel sat out the entire year, and, without ever playing an NBA game, jumped from #221 to #102

This ranking makes perfect sense -- the ranking was to predict the overall level of play for each player for the upcoming NBA season. In 2003, Noel was injured with little chance to get on the floor, 221 seems even too high. In 2004, he is healthy and looking good in preseason/ summer league, and he seems to have developed offseason. You think the 2013 rankings should have equalled the 2014? That would have been the nail in the coffin.
