ESPN: Year 2 Sophomore Rankings, David Thorpe

George is ranked too low there.... but what did you expect me to say?

+ Wall too high.

i'm so surprised to see jordan crawford at 13...
i'm from turkey and i rarely watch his games. wizards team is the master of disorder but keep in mind that he is a really good scorer and had 1 or 2 triple double. additionally, for today he is a better player than evan turner statistically and he has the confidence which evan lacks until the 2011-12 season.

splitter at 5! now what's that? watchin himself dominating the paint in europe was fun. he has some really nice post moves but i won't rank him that high... if he were in milwaukee or sacramento, he probably wouldn't be on top 15 on that list.

about mozgov vs. asik: please watch some international games before saying "asik sucks, timo rocks"! mozgov is not a good defender! he's better than asik offensively. you can understand the level of ömer's defense by tom thib's comments... he is "wanted" right now!

So Hayward had 4 good games last year, and 4 good games this year so far.
Now is where we find out if Hayward is just back to his good form from the end of last year, or if he is a flash in the pan.
Most of his history as to games played are in the bad to average range..... but I do have high hopes.

Do I judge him off of the bulk of his short history of games, or only on the good games he played?

We will see I guess.

Anybody see this little blurb by Hollinger?

Craig (Kansas City)

How bullish are you on Gordon Hayward -- his offensive game is to put it charitably a work in progress but he is becoming very good defensively. Is he young enough (this goes for Favors, too) to develop offensively?
John Hollinger (12:57 PM)

Hayward is talented but his feel for the game isn't great and he simply has to be more aggressive. I just don't know how it evolves from here; he might be frustratingly mediocre his whole career, or the lightbulb might come and make him a solid long-term starter. As for Favors, I'm not sure he'll ever be great offensively, but he's a potential monster on D.

Haven't been following Patterson this year, at all, but tonight he played 16 minutes and had 12pts, 7rbs, 2blks .. pretty solid.

You can't have Hayward's shooting percentages (or PER) and expect to get mad love. Everything about Hayward's evaluation depends on how he finishes the season, though, not on how he starts it.

OT: Sorry

Knight, with 5:00 to go, is sitting at 22pts, 7asts, 0to's .. no point.

I would just like to say that I was one of the biggest knight supporters before the draft. I really really wanted him all through the process. That's all.

He hints at Hayward busting but ignores the #1 pick and turnover machine, John Wall, who shoots 38%? Thorpe is just a dumb company man trying to write all the right things to appease the masses.

Hayward's evolved on the little things, but nobody cares about those.
What I love about Hayward is that here's a guy that's bigger than your PF with the skillset of a 2 gaurd. You don't have many of those.
