ESPN's forecast panel ranks Quin Snyder as 7th best coach in the NBA

I wonder what the other coaches have experienced as far as players lost to injury....

Stotts yes, Walton no IMO as the Lakers didn't throw in the towel this season until after Walton was unable to get the rebuilt team on track. If I was Tyronn Lue or Doc Rivers I'd be insulted, two coaches with championships under their belts and Doc has owned Snyder throughout their short tenures in the Western Conference. I'm not generally one to defend affirmative action quotas or Black Lives Matter concerns but this list smacks of racism.

I don't know, getting in the playoffs all three years and to the conference semifinals two out of three would be a pretty big deal if he was coaching our team, let alone the ring from the Celts. And Lue commandeered the greatest comeback in NBA finals history.
I got the feeling that this list is for this year. (I could be wrong about that)
What doc did in Boston and the last couple years would be irrelevant if that's the case.

Utah has a younger team with less star power and more injuries yet have the better record.

I don't think Stevens is a better coach than Snyder. Isiah Thomas is the most clutch player in the NBA and scores the more 4th quarter points than anyone, Jazz don't have anyone like that. Plus, the Jazz and Celtics nearly have the same record even though the Jazz have been plagued by injuries all season (and play in a tougher conference)

Stevens has thoroughly outcoached Quin several times when we've played them.

Tom Thibodeau is a top 5 coach in the NBA. I was hoping we would get him to come to Utah when Ty was let go. D Antoni is not a top ten coach. Roll the ball out and tell them to start shooting. Just like one local college coach. Switch he and Thibs in the Rankings and it is pretty good.

Quin has been kick *** this season. His game plan changes based on every match up. I love listening to the guy bark out offense orders like people used to complain about Sloan doing to Stockton. He watches every offensive possession and can see things that moving players cannot. His in game involvement reminds me of Ender's Game or an army general; an outside force watching everything and commanding.

I love what he's done with Rudy. He's turned that guy into a vicious threat when the defense focuses on Hayward and perimeter players.

Boris has become a murderer in Quin's strong motion into pnr game. When nothing is there the ball goes back to Diaw above the three. Sometimes he shoots it >cringe< but many times he can drive and suck in all defenders before kicking it out to the corner three. Last game they ran this action twice in a row, with the second being that huge dunk by Whithey where Harpring joked about Diaw getting posterized (because he was sealing off his man and creating a screen).
