Has anyone tried these? Thoughts?
Living in the supplement capital of the world, I've heard of these on the radio and even had a friend from high school last year hit me up on facebook trying to MLM me. From what I understand, these products are sold a few different ways - retail, wholesale, online, and through a rep. Off of principle, I was sold on never supporting MLMs because, to me, they always seem so sketchy and dealing with so many of them in Utah. Every time I heard people on the AM radio on Saturday morning talk shows talk about essential oils, I just thought of snake oil and rolled my eyes. But with that said...
I've pretty much have had chronic back pain for 2-1/2 years. I've gone to multiple and reputable doctors who basically X-Ray'd me then sent/refered me to some over booked physical therapists (to be fair, the physical therapists have always done a way better job trying to actually find the source of the problem and cure it) who give me exercises to do and a plan/schedule. Then I would complete the plan and the exercises religiously and daily but they never seem to cure the pain, discomfort and inability to get a good night's sleep. I went to a chiropractor (even though I've always been skeptical because they have such a polarized profession) who was rated 4-1/2 stars out of 5, mind you, on google, and was completely shocked by how much of a joke the guy was. My visit consisted of me telling him about my back pain and how long I've had it, then he walked me to a room and put me on a massage table for 20 minutes (Yeah, it felt alright, but so do the creepy ones at the mall), walked me back to his room and told me how long and frequent he'd like me to return to continue treatment. Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect a cure, but the guy honestly never gave me an assessment of what was causing (or what he thought) my discomfort, if I was out of balance, an adjustment, list of exercises to do, or even a simple - give a ****. It's like once they knew my insurance would pay for the visit, he just wanted to get me in there 3 times a week for 4 weeks. lol Go jump in a lake, guy.
Anyway, my back usually always has some sort of discomfort and most of the time it's bearable but occasionally I will get intense muscle pain in my upper-back and left shoulder blade. It hurts from the moment I get up and unless I'm laying down, it will seriously get worse and worse through out the day, like my back is on fire. Sometimes the pain is so over cumbersome I seriously feel claustrophobic of my own body and get this weird fear, almost panic, that I can't escape it. This usually lasts for a few weeks to a month. It started again about 4 days ago. Oof.

, I like to watch youtube videos on different stretches and tricks to do to eliminate the pain. I'm pretty sure my upper back pain is caused from bad posture due to a tight chest that's causing my muscles in my upper back to get streched/pulled on and become inflamed. I also feel like my shoulders and hips are crazy out of alignment and have been ever since I blew my knees. (Too bad professionals can't even tell me that and rather talk to me for a few minutes and have me on my way...) I woke up last night at 2 am from the pain and have been up since. I was determined to find something that was going to alleviate my pain so I got online. After my quick five minute guilty pleasure (hehepeepeecaca
I came across -lol- the doterra oils on youtube watched a bunch, then read a bunch of things online about them and to make an even longer story short, I learned about their Deep Blue product and I could buy it at their location in Orem (not have to sign up for a membership.) I guess, I'm at the point where I'm desperate to find a solution, that I actually craved trying the essential oils and couldn't care less if they were sold by a MLM. Plus, on amazon, the Deep Blue product has a 4-1/2 star review and in my experience, almost everything 4-1/2 stars on amazon is a very safe bet. This morning I drove down to Orem and bought a few sample packs that have 10 packets for $6 bucks. They had a 5 ounce bottle of oil for $40 and a small, lotion like tube, for $40 (very convenient bend-you-over prices) - so I figured the $12 bucks in the sample packets would be worth the investment to see if it works for me.
I'll have to let you guys know if it ends up working for me. *crosses fingers*
