What's new

Eurobasket 2011: Turkey - Portugal match is starting now. :) Live match

what will our duo of kanter and favors look like in 2-3 years? can you imagine? the sky is literally the limit. actually, we have the chance to have the best jazz roster ever in two or three years. add a good point guard in the next year's draft and you can become a contender within the next few years. we are in a similar situation like the thunders were once. we have great talent, great young players with huge potential to build around with favors and kanter having the potential to become superstars in this league. it's exciting to be a jazz fan.

I'm trying to lower my expectations for these young guys. I too see the "possibility" of a great team being built but I don't want to set the bar too high. Anything can happen.

hosts always get some special treatment from refs... remember Turkey-Serbia semifinal last year in WC;)?

I bet last year you were not complaining about refs during that game.

well turkey beat every team by 20 until that game, its not very easy to see if the foot was on line so u cant blame on referees for that. Giving the more favorable calls to a team and not seeing a certain fact are different things

does anyone know why valanciunas got only 4 mins? he was injured or what?

Thanks for the link.

Kanter is much more dunk-happy than I expected, which makes me happy.
Doesn't have great lift, but it was nice to see him finishing with the dunk while getting slammed in the mouth. Beastly.

It's not good to count your chickens before they hatch. And the difference between the Thunder and almost every other rebuild ever is that they got Durant. If we have a talent anywhere near the level of Durant, we've yet to see who that is.

And the crop of PGs next year is downright poor.

i want to see kanter take more jumpshots... he is a great shooter and i like his midrange game... he made some nice jumpers in the friendly games...

Me too, but i also like the fact that he's not in love with his jumper right now. He's trying to bang, and score inside like a Center/PF should. I've seen enough centers from Turkey who stand around and shoot jump shots all game.
With that said, I'd like to see a few just to see how his shot is in game action.

he had 2 blocks,,i cant believe they missed it

I looked at his blocks again, and you're right; he should have had at least two: first at the beginning of the third quarter in the lane, second closing out on Andrade right before the shot clock went off in the third, and possibly a third when he and number 11 swarmed Elvis under the basket (it's hard to tell who got that one).
