Maybe there is some sort of insurance out there for when you try to be funny and aren't?
Trout, would you spot people some rep if they bought (regular rep payments) joke insurance from you, then attempted a joke that didn't work?
I think this could work, we just need to flesh out the details.
 
It is times like these where even a really non-religious person like me is hoping there is a hell. And that this guy gets put there in the worst way.

I'm with those of you that detest what Mr. Powell has done.
It makes me sick.
There just are not words adequate to say what is in my mind.

I just cannot comprehend how someone could get to the point that they could do those things.
Simply unthinkable.
 
Not saying I agree why he did it but I can see the mindset. Man was living in torment for what he did which he deserved. Those boys were the only thing he had and they were slowly being taken away from him. Also like others have mentioned, the oldest started talking about what was going on and the only way he could stop that from happening was a murder/suicide. The least he could have done was tell some one where he put the body.
 
Being a believer in God, and assertting "There is no sorrow Heaven cannot heal", a case like this requires some extra thinking.

I've got a range of scenarios.

Probably some angels were having a hard time holding their noses around Josh, even for the sake of the kids. Maybe there was a Wednesday morning meeting with Jesus, the three Nephites, twelve apostles, and the destroying angel, a sort of sixteen to one confrontation, with a solid case in favor of the destroying angel.

"If we leave the kids, they'll never be able to recover from all these horrible facts in a whole lifetime."


"Yeah, you've got a point. They have suffered their share already. They deserve a better chance."

The Destroying Angel got the nod.

Probably Susan Powell is happy to have the kids with her again, well, not as happy as if they had all gotten a better deal in life.

As a religious guy, I'm happy for the kids, only in that they are with their mother and permanently away from the evil piece of rat **** that was their father.
 
Let's be honest here, Josh Powell was probably molested as a child by his creepy child-porn collecting/filming dad. There is about a 95% probability based on how he's acted. A lot of you are condemning the man to hell without considering how disgusting of a life he probably had to have his brain be wired that way. Watching videos of him on youtube, he should have been in a mental asylum years ago. Once the badger leaves the farm, there's no going back to

You do have a good point here.
It does not absolve him of what he did though, and it's not my place to judge him personally.

I can judge for myself that the actions he took were horrible beyond belief, no matter what it took to get him to that point.
