Exum Injured

Never said he was a good offensive player, and I stand by my assertion that he was an overall positive impact player because he didn't hurt the team by wasting offensive possessions. Like I said, neutral on the offensive side and positive on the defensive side. Replacing him with Trey "negative on both sides" Burke will definitely hurt us, unless Trey has a breakout year. I won't be holding my breath.

If what you say is true then just replace him with ellijah millsap.
Millsap probably is happy just to be in the nba so he will do whatever the coaches ask.
Snyder can tell millsap to go out and play great defense (which he does) and on the offensive side just stand on the 3 point line and defer to his teammates.

One hurts the team a whole lot more, which might have had something to do with why Q made the switch in the first place. Also, Utah started winning a whole lot more around that time and maybe you think that was a coincidence, but I do not.

I think it was the subtraction of kanter and the addition of Gobert.

Y'all who are saying the season is going to be just fine without Exum are missing the ****ing point.

This season was going to be fun because we were going to have the chance to watch the development of a potential championship team. Without Exum, this team is not championship potential. So we can win more games than last season, and we probably will, but it means jack squat. I could care less about a middling team.

That's why save Favors becoming elite, this is going to be a long season.

Heh. I'm over here laughing my *** off from this post. From the sounds of it you think this is like some movie. Like Mighty Ducks or Remember the Titans, or that Hugh Jackman and Keanu football movie. How does a sophomore who has NO offensive protege and has above average defense for a crutch solidify ****? We can go get a servicsble vet guard and be in the same boat as we would with Exum. Get out of this "but, but Exum is the final key piece to make us immortal" phase. Either he sinks or floats.. and since he came into the league, he looks average at best.

The same people talking about trading for another point guard while expressing little or no disappointment that Dante got hurt are probably the same fans who whine about players not being loyal to the Jazz. This is terrible news not just because losing Dante potentially for the season will hurt the team (despite what critics say) on the court but it is just sad to see a young kind promising player go down like this. I hope he can fully recover and I am still holding out hope that it isn't as serious as it looked but my main concern about the injury is that hopefully Dante can fully recover.

Because from a fans POV Exum isn't going to be the main fortitude to our playoff push. Hed be a piece, but nobody is going to go on a rave of his 6 points per and 4 assists in 29 minutes per game. He's a pick everyone has been iffy about anyways so hopefully he's ok, but if he's derailed then hey, we swung for the fences and struck out.

I think it goes without saying that we're all a bit sad and disappointed that Dante is hurt, just because we're not crying about it doesn't mean we don't feel sad about the situation.


Regarding the trades, yes Dante going down is sad and depressing but life moves on and Gobert, Favors and Hayward deserves a PG to excel next year and trying to make the playoffs regardless. It would be unfair to them and the team as a whole if DL does not at least explore ways in which we can improve if Exum is indeed out for a whole season.

I'm going to look for positives here. During the free agency period, there was some debate amongst us about maybe getting a starter and letting Dante develop as a backup and trading Trey. Now that plan can proceed, except it will be delayed a bit. Trey can up his value by starting. Then DL can look to flip Trey and other assets for a better vet near the trade deadline. Dante comes back from his injury, plays backup minutes and develops his offense. He was NOT ready to start last season and - judging by his national team play - hasn't developed a great deal yet over last year.

Only part I disagree with is being in the same boat with a vet PG. Honestly you guys are better off with a vet PG. I understand the hope for Exum, but people here have vastly overrated his talent and importance to the team.

He sees the light. He's in this place called reality. Unlike some of you who think Dantes presence is that of Mr. Miyaki.

If not he needs to take a gamble in the next couple of drafts and try to pick out a Tony Parker type pick for us.
