What's new

Favors agent says they are open to an extension:

What's amazing is Favors turned 25 a few months ago. And from what I saw in the preseason he looked more assertive. If he gets healthy, for him to be 24 PPG and 10+ RPG is very realistic.

That's a bit optimistic don't u think. This team is stacked with scorers and he's never shown to be a double digit rebounder all be it close.

His scoring average has gone up every season, he's entering his prime, and Jazz defense will translate into offense. Plus if he continues to develop his jumper (which didn't exist a few seasons ago) that's just icing on the cake.

He hasn't missed all that many games in his career. The last 4 years he's played 77, 73, 74, and last year 62. By comparison Hayward has played 72, 77, 76 and 80 last year.

Back on topic, if he is willing to take an ext to help the team keep these guys than they better do it.

They better sign that extension quick before he loses more games to injury. Otherwise the value will just continue to drop. Sell high.

MIssing 10+ games per year isn't much? And that trend will likely continue into this season.

What concerns me is that the IT Band Syndrome and back problems can be chronic. You wouldn't expect to see a young guy entering the prime of his career missing games with so many injuries. Athletes in their 30's should start having problems. And many don't even until retirement. Derrick appears to be breaking down now. Caveat emptor!

Jazz can't pay everyone. I really like Favs, but Lyles is developing fast. And he might be a better fit with Gobert. I'd wait on an extension, See where Lyles is at; see how many games Derrick misses with his injury. Next season I'd probably recommend trading Favors.

So you want to go back to a offensive minded PF who is slow laterally and horrible on defense? I could be mistaken, but haven't was done that before?
