Oh, I am sure then that all networks has been fighting like crazy for many years to get Locke and make him their signature voice.
You still don't seem to understand. Boler's job is not to be an educator. The great majority of viewers don't come to learn something new about the NBA basketball. It is a show, a piece of lazy entertainment where families and friends chat and drink in front of a TV and Boler smoothly guides them through it.
I understand. He does not know the game.

When I could watch league pass on Youtube the SAP was just court/arena noise. Was very nice.
Now that Amazon is the exclusive provider for online, I watch the other teams broadcasts. Bolerisms are so annoying. A player fights for position and chases down a rebound and boler says right place right time. Hammer down a 3. The list goes on. And sometimes it feels like he is not paying attention to the game. Just calling it in.
I like the Nets, Mavs and Bulls announcers. They come prepared and don't have cheesy catch phrases. Heat are good too.

Boler has a voice that is pleasant to listen to, but he's not a ball knower and he's got a penchant for coming up with lame catch phrases that he runs into the ground.
Locke is much more knowledgeable about the game, and is always very prepared. I don't think he has a very radio friendly voice, its nothing to do with it being unmasculine or anything (weird direction to take it in tbh), it's just kind of grating. He's also uses weird little phrases that don't always land, but I don't feel like he overuses them as much as Boler.
At the end of the day, neither one is in the upper echelon of NBA announcers, so its just kind of arguing about what flavor of mid you prefer.

.maybe I've just listened to him so much I don't pickup on the voice stuff
His phrases are a bit corny, but I'd rather have corny and excited than lazy and recycled.
