I've actually worked for FedEx in North Salt Lake and I can guarantee you that every single employee that loads the trucks that do home delivery throws packages. It just depends on how many packages are coming down the belt at once and if they have time to put it on the truck shelf. If too many packages are coming down at once, then someones package(s) are going to get a football toss somewhere.

I did a short stint with UPS back in the day, and this is 100% accurate.
