Feeling Better About This Team

I still have the same gripe. Why were there starters out there in the 4th quarter past the 8 minute mark or so? The game was never in doubt. Give the other guys some time.

Because Quin is a damn idiot. Or out of his mind on coke. Can't figure out which.

Or maybe go half-way: rest the players that need it the most (Mike, maybe Bogey) and maybe leave some of the others out just to be sure nothing crazy happened.

Being quick to pull Mike specifically could be a good way to get him some rest when it looks like the game is in hand.

Could’ve rolled with butler/Forrest that entire 2nd half and still won easily by 20+

They were losing the lead in the third quarter. Sloan said you only have to lose a lead one time to learn your lesson for life.

Trent Forrest starting to remind me of Ronnie Brewer. He’s getting steals and the defenders are sagging off him five feet.

Teams adjust when players arrive in the NBA. Forrest is made the scouting report, you can tell by how far back the Rockets were on him last night. Let’s see if he continues to have success. The playoffs will be a different beast and the lanes need to be open for Don and JC. He’s got to learn to shoot three quickly!

Paschall fixed his shot, why hasn’t Forrest? Tens of millions of dollars are in the line!!! I just don’t understand!

I too feel better about the Jazz during a winning streak compared to a losing streak.

I've been a fan long enough to try my best to "not get too high, not get too low...blah blah blah" but fact is, I like winning Jazz better than losing Jazz.

It took us just over 5 minutes to build a 13-point lead. With 8 minutes to go, we were only up by 20. You don't want to pull the rotation and get the 3rd stringers on an off day.

I feel exactly the same about this team as I did at the start of the season. We are a contender but we do need some luck, along with every team. We are a good team with some big weaknesses, but again so does every team.

Agreed. The bench guys stepping up is a big improvement for this team. If Snyder wants to play his 8 man rotation during the playoffs that’s fine—but he needs to let all these guys play for the rest of the season. They are playing with a ton of energy, saving minutes for our best players, and developing. If come playoff time, it turns out Pascall or House or Dok is a player we can turn to for minutes in the playoffs, then that is a big improvement for this team. We didn’t have anyone outside the main guys who could handle the post season and it sunk us just as much as the injuries.

It was so bad in the Clippers series last year. Conley was out, Favors and Niang were so bad that they were almost unplayable and the guys at the end of the bench didn't even belong in the NBA. The only guy's Quin could trust in that series were Don/Joe/Bogey/Royce/Rudy/JC. The Clippers were absolutely loaded with depth, and we only had 6 good players. The depth at the back end of the roster has improved a ton from last season.

And it's not like we haven't lost games to miserable teams this year after being way up early (or even in the 3rd, maybe even 4th).
