Half time Australia 44 Finland 40.

Lauri (11/3/2) having a pretty bad game thus far but Finland still in the game and has lead most of the way.

Mills, Giddey and Ingles carrying Australia.

Australia has a lot of fouls though and could be in trouble in the 2nd half.
 
Just to clarify, Lauri is not hitting his shots (4/11) and has more turnoners (3) than usual and a few sloppy ones at that.

Imo Finland is getting the ball to Lauri a bit too late so he constantly has to rush.

Yeah none of the ball carriers are driving threats. Its too big of a handicap against a quality team like Australia.
 
Lauri looks much sharper now but so does Australia. Dedex played a really good 3rd quarter, drove 1on1 a lot and made smart decissions.
 
Australia obviously was good, especially on D. But Finland played extremely badly at times. Miro Little was atrocious, and Lauri made some seriously dumb plays :(
 
Latvia easy lead at half 55-30. Bertans and Smits carry the team. But Lebanon is really weak not much to learn from this game.

To be fair, Lauri played much better in the 2nd half despite scoring less and Australia running away with it.

All PGs were the weakest point imo (Maxhuni and Seppälä were bad as well). They got burned on defense, fouled and gave tons of FTs, missed their shots and couldnt create for others.

I mean if your 3 PGs combine for 5 points and 9 assists, its hard to win.

Well if Giddey and Mills keep playing the way they did then its not impossible. At one point it felt like Mills cannot miss, and Giddey was just such a steady floor general with timely baskets and near triple double help stats.

Mills in the Green and Gold is a different beast, he goes up a couple of gears. Losing Landale will hurt but Reath is an NBA quality player, White, Kay and Cooks will be serviceable against everyone except maybe the US. In the words of Fox Mulder, I want to believe
